Michigan Coaching Speculation

NJ-Buckeye;1021723; said:
Schiano was offered and accepted the job yesterday
He thought about it over night and decided he couldn't do it to his players
He turned down the job this morning
He called his entire team in this morning and revealed everything to them
He started crying and left

IF JT ever retires.. GREG SCHIANO is the man I want at tOSU
He has ethics and integrity...

:shake: but did he at least tell them to have a great day?

Woody cried at the 50 yard line when he was honored in for his college football hof induction.
Woody wasn't the Head Coach then either.

And obviously I was kidding.

But I love how we always throw Woody out there to end arguments. It's like the guy who throws Hitler in the discussion to end it.

So is there anybody out there that actually wants the scum job?

Let's see here....

Paul Johnson didn't even consider them....

Les Miles re-upped with LSU for the next 5 years....

Schiano did likewise.....

Bo Pelini is going to attempt (and probably succeed) in making Nebraska relevant again.

Nutt went to Ole Miss

Tuberville is staying at Auburn

Bowden re-upped for another year but Jimbo Fisher looks like his replacement

Tommy Bowden is signed at Clemson through 2012

Fat phil is staying at Tennessee, so they will remain mediocre...

Same with Mike Gundy, just remember he's a man!! He's 40!!!

Jim Grobe is reportedly staying at Wake Forest....

As you can see, there are quite a few name coaches or good coaches who are under the radar that aren't going anywhere. Part of that could be due to the rampant [strike]mediocrity[/strike] err ummm parity in CFB this year.

Either that or Carr stayed too long and the luster on the Meshitagain program is well and truly tarnished....

I wonder, are there any former Meshitagain coaches/players currently coaching in the NFL???

I can't believe we still dont have a head coach. I can't believe Schiano turned down the job. I don't think their is anyone who wants the job. I am waiting for Bill Martin to call a press conference stating something like "we can't find a new coach so we are just canceling football and focusing on hockey and rebuilding the baseketball team"

maybe i am just paranoid. but thats what chicago-Illinois did with thier hockey team ~10 years ago.

It's ridiculous that Michigan is in this situation. This is the best opening of the off season for a coach. Bill Martin must be incompetent. He's gotta be trying to go blue light special on the salary.

Either that or they had all their eggs in the Les Miles basket and didn't have a plan B......

This could be good or bad. They still might luck their way into a competent coach.

I can buy the Les Miles basket but if you're AD or any executive worth your salt there should be a contingency plan.
