5-star DL Malik McDowell, No. 1 recruit in state, expected to make Michigan State visit on Friday

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio made an in-home visit with McDowell on Tuesday, the same day Florida State sent assistant coaches to his home.

The Seminoles are thought by some to be the Spartans' main competition for McDowell, who also has offers from Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, Florida, Alabama, Notre Dame, Oregon, Nebraska and several others, according to 247 sports.

With the visit to MSU this weekend, chances are the OSU visit could get bumped for a visit to LSU...

I stand corrected...Meyer must have been convincing today. Thought for sure he would visit LSU. Meyer must have done work with Malik's mom.

Teammate of Malik McDowell. Currently listed as a Western Michigan verbal but I think he is visiting Iowa this weekend. He added offers from Florida and Arkansas back in November and Oklahoma recently offered as well. But despite a visit to MSU and constant contact from other coaches, he has remained committed to WMU. Not sure if this is hedging against Jamarco flipping or trying to further lure Malik to Columbus or both.

Nothing new in this article, but I must be fantasizing about Malik joining the good guys.

At the rate oline recruiting is going, one unique thing about tOSU is that Malik doubles his prospects for finding the perfect NFL fit ... who knows if that would be on online or dline.
