Malik McDowell (DL Cleveland Browns)

East Lansing, spooky, people getting shot, people dieing:

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- One of two students shot in their apartment near the Michigan State University campus died Saturday morning at an area hospital of multiple gunshots wounds, police said.

The dead student was identified as 20-year-old Dominique Nolff, of Middleville in western Michigan. He was pronounced dead at 9:23 a.m. Saturday — about 12 hours after he and his 20-year-old roommate were shot.

While the Green and White’s memorable season certainly served as an added lure, his appreciation for the social scene in East Lansing apparently has been the bigger hook. In response to that, his parents made it a point to reemphasize the approach they want him to take in vetting his suitors immediately after returning from his official visit to Michigan State last weekend.

Maybe they could bring in Karen Holbrook to talk about the social scene in Columbus?

I "borrowed" this photo from the Scout OSU board, is this young man huge or what?

Interesting article by Sam Webb, the article isn't as interesting as the comments section. Some hostile scUM and MSU fans start attacking his parents, his mom snaps back at a few of the fans too. I feel bad for parents of elite recruits, and what they deal with from fans. Social media has made people seem invincible and feel comfortable chastising a kid and his family based on the family and kids decision of a college.

They just hate the fact that they can't keep their top recruits in house....I live in Michigan, recruiting has become their pride and joy.

Plus, in that picture McDowell has future 1st round pick written all over him. I don't think 300 lbs could look any better

I don't think I'm breaking any rules in this, and mean no disrespect to Malik, he is an 18 year old kid and thinks like an 18 year old kid.

The article is interesting. Sounds like he loves MSU for the East Lansing social scene. Didn't Baugh love the social scene a little too much? Not saying anything bad about Malik, but this article reads like trouble. If he ends up down in Tallahassee I do hope his mother moves down, he may need the support. Tallahassee is a 'football town' where the players get pretty much free reign, like a T-town Jr. Don't get me wrong, I hope to have him in Columbus, but he's got to get his head right and make the decision if he is going for a social scene or to work to be a first rounder. I think the best place for him may be MSU, Dantonio gives me the impression of a guy who take no shit.

Very few kids are straight business these days with the focus solely on the important points. Most kids are going to be attracted to a social scene they can identify with. MSU fielded a great defense last year. If he thinks that school provides him the most in all areas then more power to him. We know what we have in Urban, tOSU and C-Bus. Let's just home Malik does too. If not, we will survive.
