Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

just listened to Windhorst on Mike and Mike...he says he thinks you can point to the signs of lebron changing and wanting to leave starting with his left handed free throw....after that Lebron stated that the people of cleveland are "spoiled" by him...his tone throughout the conversation sounded like he was also convinced lebron is gone....i will try and find the audio for it because its worth a listen

Here is my $.02. I think if Lebron wants to be in consideration for the greatest player of all time, he needs to stay. If he does go to Miami you will never be able to include him in that discussion. Jordan was able to win championships with Pippen, but by going to Miami its like Lebron would be attempting to win a championship with another Jordan(Wade) and Pippen(Bosh). You just would not be able to put Lebron on that level anymore due to this. Plus in Miami his stats are going to drop because you are going to have to keep 2 additional playmakers happy. With that being said I just don't see a way that he returns to Cleveland. He is having the 1 hour tv special tonight and I think when he announces that he is gone that he will spend the remaining 50 minutes of the show trying to explain his decision and basically try to attempt to apologize to his "hometown". Once this decision is made IF he does go he will become the most hated man in Cleveland. I think he will even be above the level of hatred that Art Modell has obtained. This is just all my opinion of course but I dont think any of it is beyond the realm of possibility!

Turns out LeBron is just not a fan of big government.

Having worked in Ohio & Texas (no state income tax), making about as much as lebron pays in taxes, I can say this... the government, state or fed, will get their money. No income tax, here's 10% sales tax and 8% property tax.

Someone mentioned Windhorst on Mike and Mike. Another couple of things he said is that Lebron would probably still try to live in Akron, which wont go over so well, especially if he tries to sell that mansion. Another thing is Windhorst had asked Model if he considered the fallout from moving. He said he did, and it was worse than even his worse case scenario.

Like it or not Cleveland/Ohio has some very passionate sports fans and there will be a lot of [censored]ed off people either way, I just hope he doesn't try to come back to NW Ohio like everything is all good if he leaves.

shaq left Orlando for a better situation in LA and then went to Miami and won another title. He's still one of the greatest. Kobe forced the hand of the Hornets and made them trade him to LA. KG to Boston, so forth and so on. Sometimes you have to make your own decisions when the GMs are not putting the players around you. Seriously, you take Bron off of Cleveland and they win 20 games, and he's been there what, 7 seasons? Frankly it's embarrassing the lack of help they've tried to give him over the years and expected him to win titles. I don't see how Bron leaving for a better situation will tarnish anything for him other than in the minds of Cleveland fans.

Assuming they don't have any major roster changes besides losing Lebron I would put all my vcash that the Cavs win more than 20 games next year. I'd give them 40 wins and a low playoff spot.

Poor analogy--Shaq was the leader of the team and had no one even close to his level in either LA or Miami when he won the titles. Not so with LBJ if he goes to Miami.

Kobe forced the hand of the Hornets and made them trade him to LA.

I'm not even sure what your point is here. The two situations couldn't be more different.

KG to Boston, so forth and so on.

This is your best try yet, but the analogy still fails. KG isn't from Minneapolis/St. Paul, and he hadn't at any time, to my knowledge, professed his love for that area.

Now, this I agree with you on. If LBJ leaves, the Cavs as a business enterprise will be worth, if they're lucky, 50% of what it was worth about a year ago. Natural selection in the business world at its finest, IMO.

You're implying that the East is no good? If LBJ leaves, I count 4 of the top 5 teams in the NBA being from the East (Boston, Miami, Orlando, and Chicago).

compared to the West, the East isn't even close. What I am implying is that it's easier to make the playoffs with mediocre talent in the East.
