Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

One thing is for certain:

There's no way that ESPN and/or LeBron are leaking conflicting information (NY! Cleveland! Miami!) is order to build up the suspense for the contrived 1-hour announcement special tonight.

I mean, with all of ESPN's integrity, that could just never happen!

I'm spending as little time as possible following the story. Thankfully it will be over tonight.

Interesting thing though, is that it isn't conflicting information. ALL information is pointing to Miami. Has it actually leaked or did the camp leak false information to build up suspense?

At this point my only hope is LeBron leaking misinformation to add suspense. You can't find an "insider" right now that doesn't have LeBron going to the Heat. Again, it's weird they'd be so tight-lipped throughout the process, and now it's leaked that he'll be a member of the Heat.

My hope is slim to none though...when you hear rumors of LeBron's team already calling up role players to gauge their interest in playing for the league minimum in Miami, it's hard to get too optimistic.

Pretty much resigned to the fact Cleveland is getting a dump taken on them again...

Israel Gutierrez had a pretty decent article for the Miami Herald making the case the LeBron SHOULDN'T go to Miami - mainly saying that it would be bad for the NBA, and that every truly great team needs a viable rival.

I know this isn't what's happening here, but what better way to manufacture a real rivalry between Cleveland & Miami than for LeBron to pull the rug out from under the heat and stay with the Cavs?

I agree with Gutierrez on this potential move being bad for the NBA. I already have a long diatribe in my head, I'm saving it for late tonight or tomorrow after something becomes official.

I just leaked LeBron to Minnesota. Watch e!spn.

Now, I still think he's staying. I'm going down with this ship. Just seems a little weird to me that everything has been so hush-hush, then on the eve of his big self fellation, it gets leaked where he's going. I will say this, if he's taking an hour long special to shit on city and fans he grew up with (that's what it is, sorry)...it's a dick move. If you're leaving, make it low key...

The more I let this soak in, the more it seems like the Pac-16 that never happened. LeBron is Texas. He is going to do what is best for him and his brand. Going to Miami is probably the worst thing he could have done. It is like Texas going to the SEC. It is bad all around for everyone if this were to happen. The NBA needs icons like LeBron James and he just won't be the same if he is sharing the stage in Miami. All of it seems to be suggesting to me that he intends to stick around at this point.

Just seems a little weird to me that everything has been so hush-hush, then on the eve of his big self fellation, it gets leaked where he's going. This really can't be stated enough. How much of the hour is going to be devoted to LeBron's contributions to the communities, charity work, fund-rasing, etc. though? He'll no doubt be called a self-promoting diva, and it will reflect horribly if he picks another team, but you have to know a majority of this special has been hand put together by LeBron's handlers.

It'll be easy to rip him out one side of your moth, while appreciating the amount of money he raised by doing an hour show. And I'm not saying that's how everyone will think about it, but I have a feeling that's how LeBron and his team are viewing it. Soften the national perception by donating hundreds of thousands/ maybe millions?? to charity in the process.

It's just a theory, and I hope I'm way off. It'd also be nice if he did the show from a Birls and Girls Club in Akron, but Greenwich CT it is...25 miles from New York City.
