Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

There's an important lesson to be learned in all this. It's don't let your fucking homies manage your career. This is a complete clusterfuck, and no matter what decision is announced in tonight's Bronopalooza, it's turned James from a likeable superstar into a self-obsessed, unlikeable media whore. And if the final decision is Miami, you can throw in a legacy of "the guy who couldn't win a ring on his own so he had to join Bingo Long's Traveling All-Stars to get a championship."

He doesn't have to stay in Miami with those guys forever. Kobe is out of Shaq's shadow now.

Perhaps. It's true that Kobe's first 3 rings were a product of playing with Shaq, but it's not like Kobe arranged and set that whole thing up to win those rings after failing to win one on his own. I think a move to Miami pretty much removes James, regardless of what the Traveling All-Stars win down there, from GOAT consideration. It would just be seen as a crass, calculated move after flaming out of the playoffs the last two times on his own.

lebron is a pretty dramatic guy...he hasnt signed a contract with miami yet....i could see him saying he is going to play for anyone but miami tonight just because everyone thinks its miami now...what would be the point of going on the special to announce something everyone already knows? also something which is somewhat weird is that lebrons inner circle told the media where he was going? but yet windhorst who probably knows lebrons inner circle better then anyone has yet to confirm this rumour yet...i havent completely shut the door on lebron leaving but i will be the first to call him a peice of shit if he does leave

One thing is for certain:

There's no way that ESPN and/or LeBron are leaking conflicting information (NY! Cleveland! Miami!) is order to build up the suspense for the contrived 1-hour announcement special tonight.

I mean, with all of ESPN's integrity, that could just never happen!

I'm spending as little time as possible following the story. Thankfully it will be over tonight.

OK....but now you're giving Kobe a pass for being a little bitch and avoiding being drafted by a crap team. How would it have played out if Kobe was allowed to be taken by a crap team, or how would it have played out if Lebron pulled a bitch move and told suck teams he wouldn't play for them if they drafted him?

Windhorst:

LeBron, as is plain now, has told people he's going to MIA. But as I've said until he or Maverick Carter go on the record it is what it is. 1 minute ago via web

  1. Yes, #Cavs have been trying to make deals. They tried hard to trade for Paul. But roster geared toward winning '10 title limits everything. less than a minute ago via web
  2. There are many people in LeBron's camp who are advising against leaving including, I'm told, Chris Paul. But this is a committee of one. 5 minutes ago via web

See, this is why Cleveland can't have nice things.

I'm glad I've never been a fan of Cleveland sports.

Go Lions! :paranoid: :p

haha its love or hate at this point...no middle of the road for me :)

Personally, I'm not going to wish a pox on him if he leaves...but I will not be disappointed if he doesn't win a title in Miami.

At this point my only hope is LeBron leaking misinformation to add suspense. You can't find an "insider" right now that doesn't have LeBron going to the Heat. Again, it's weird they'd be so tight-lipped throughout the process, and now it's leaked that he'll be a member of the Heat.

My hope is slim to none though...when you hear rumors of LeBron's team already calling up role players to gauge their interest in playing for the league minimum in Miami, it's hard to get too optimistic.
