Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

houston still has to renounce all their free agents, including parsons, and find someone to take on jeremy lin without sending anything back in return. and even then, they'd really pretty much be a big 3 like miami, with not much around them. plus lebron hates dwight howard, and howard is a mental midget. add to that houston being in the western conference, and i'd hardly call it a smart career move.

Not disagreeing with anything here, but going to Houston still would be a better move than staying in Miami.

I still think they all end up in Miami and that's the plan. They'll probably strike out poorly in free agency though.

From a legacy/PR standpoint, I can't see how Lebron can do anything other than stay in Miami or return to Cleveland.

I think Cleveland fans are the only ones thinking that move would somehow save face. I think everybody agrees staying in Miami would be best to prevent the mercenary tag. But after that, even going to Cleveland isn't going to be viewed as anything other than hopping around to places that make it easier for him. If anything it'll make Cleveland fans look terrible for the fit they threw when he left, because we all know everybody will welcome him back with open arms. It's not like they'd have a choice in the matter.

Compare it to the Larry Johnson hiring. The guy was a scumbag who flat out lied to kids and used racism to do it. I'm not happy about him being here, but it's not like I could or even would want to turn away the defensive studs who are lining up to play for him.

I've been lurking by a Heat board, because I'm a sucker for some good schadenfreude. It's hilarious. The panic is palpable. Everytime they mention a name, said name signs a deal elsewhere, then they all move down the food chain. At this point, they're basically talking about geezers like Vince Carter, Shawn Marion, and Carlos Boozer. They also really want Spencer Hawes, who makes zero sense as he does not provide the inside help they would need. He's basically a less gay Chris Bosh. If LeBron signs elsewhere, I might take the day of, fire up a good cigar, pour some Guinness and observe for 24 hours straight...

If Lebitch does sign elsewhere (including Cleveland) please do not hesitate to link that site. I may be joining you in the observance.

LeBron demanding the Max is baffling to me. He deserves it, no doubt, but it calls into question his priorities...?
He couldn't have demanded better role players, then demanded to get the max salary and expect to get both...
Im starting to think, he may be happy with the two rings he already has. I was shocked by his attitude before game 5 of the finals.
It was the close out game, win or go home, and when asked about the urgency of the moment he replied
"its just basketball...im in the good place right now...the two rings I already have definitely helps."
(although he went on to score 30pts and put Miami on his back...again...in that loss)

I think, to a degree, he is content with the rings he has won.
He still wants to win a ring every year, but is more interested in getting paid the most while trying to win the rings now.

There is no doubt, LeBron Wade and Bosh could have all three taken 12mil a year each, hammered out those details quickly and put themselves
in a much better position to pick up a big name free agent and resigned Allen / Andersen and put themselves right back in the Finals next year.

Instead, it doesn't look like they will get any big name free agent, and Andersen may get offered more money by another team.
I heard someone talk about Miami picking up Mo Williams....lol that would definitely make LeBron leave.

I think ultimately LeBron will resign with Miami with a 1-year opt out.
I think Miami could potentially fall apart next year.
With a bunch of new role players it will take time for them to gel, wade and bosh might slack feeling like they are underpaid.
LeBron will probably feel more pressure year round being max paid, the Big 3 will now be called the Big 1.
Wade will probably have to sit out a third of the season again.

I'm glad LeBron demanded the max, if anything would make Miami fall apart...that would do it.
Meanwhile I'll have fun watching the Cavaliers superstars win games.... Irving / Wiggins

Bosh and LeBron are gone.. they hung Wade out to dry... Wade should have opted in
This whole thing is imploding.. they're pissed that the owner won't pay whatever it costs
since all 3 of them took huge reductions

Maybe LeBron appreciates the fact Gilbert would do whatever he had to
and let's see how the Miami 'fans' respond to this debacle

They've worked themselves into such a lather that they're convinced LeBron and his agent are trolling the rest of the league and have planned to resign all along. Which makes perfect sense because, you know, the status of the best player in the league would have no bearing on potential additions to help your shitty roster being interested in signing with you. They're also decoding lyrics from background music in Instagram videos and hats. Horrific grammar. A lot of terrible abbreviating. Delusions of grandeur. It's some scene.

You magnificent bastard. I'm only two pages in and I might have to pull an all nighter. Apparently Cleveland and Houston are to blame for the Lebron imminent signing elsewhere. Gold, Jerry... Pure gold!!!
