Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

He could probably do that once, maybe twice if he got out of the first one after a year or two. Within 4 years he'll need to sign a max deal for as long as he can to take him through the end of his career. I look forward to a game a few years from now when Wiggins is running circles around Lebron. Of course Lebron in 6-7 years will be Bennett on his best day.

I look forward to that day as well. Until then, I have two favorite teams: 1. Cavs; 2. Whoever employs one Lebron James.

I'm calling bs based on number of posts in this forum.

Maybe not outwardly interested:

But I think you're still interested, as much as you don't want to admit it:

If you read back, I said I do follow the draft and offseason. I have, in fact, not watched an NBA game in some time. The flopping and incessent whining of the players is almost impossible to watch. But, yes, I'm oddly interested in the maneuverings of teams in the offseason, just not much in the games, or even seasons, themselves.

I'm betting that LeBron returns to the Cavs and plays out the string there. He's got his NBA ring, gold medal, more money than he can spend, and acclaim. If he cannot cobble together an 'understanding' with Wade and Bosch about sticking together, then he'll go back to Ahia. His play will diminish, as he's not going to be playing for another ring in Cleveland, so he's not going to put it all out there. Akron or Cleveland has airports, so he's not going to be 'out of touch'. Actually would be a good thing for him, for the Cavs and the state of Ohio if he did it. Haven't bothered to see what players were drafted to the Heat or Cavs, but the Cav's undoubtedly got someone with talent (if it translates well to the show), plus he's an Ohio kid, and probably doesn't like it much to be reviled in his home state. And everyone loves to be loved. Someone pointed out how much $ he's invested in Akron, and heck, he's a celebrity that helps draw athletes to tOSU. I'll be big vcash on this. Go Bucks.

The only way that the Heat keep Lebron is to pretty much shoot for the moon for the next couple of years while trashing their future, which it looks like they're going to try to do.

So, what I'm hoping for is that there is always one team out there to crush their hopes. I don't know if San Antonio will be as strong next year, but if Melo goes to the Bulls and Rose comes back healthy then Chicago won't let Miami get out of the East.

I can't disagree with that. It's been so long since he's been healthy that I think people forget how good he was before that initial injury.

Honestly Rose has been injured so much over the past 2.5 years that it's highly doubtful that he'll every be that MVP type player again. It almost seems like he is afraid to push himself. I'm still not sure what moves Miami is going to be able to make to improve. Even if they get Wade and Bosh take less money they need to cut enough to get under the luxury tax this season. The rest of the roster is either too old to matter or gone. Are they going to rely on bringing in new old players that want a chance at a title? Even if they are able to make it work for a couple more years they are going to be stuck paying Wade 10+ mil a year for the next 4-5 year when he won't even be able to step on the floor. If Lebron does sign it will probably be for a deal that he can opt out of at any time. The Heat have no choice but to sign him to any deal that his people give them. IMO if Wade doesn't opt out Lebron is gone.

Be nice if Lebron would bolt and the Heat would get shitty starting next year:
2015 first round draft pick from Miami
Miami's 1st round pick to Cleveland protected for selections 1-10 in 2015 or 1-10 in 2016 or unprotected in 2017 [Cleveland-Miami, 7/9/2010]

If Lebron walks the Cavs have a pretty good shot at that unprotected pick in 2017.

So do you guys hate the Heat more than just LeBron? Like if LeBron went to Houston, would your disdain for him lessen since he wasn't on the Heat? Is it Miami fans and Riley that people can't stand in this situation?

Just curious. I don't really care if he leaves, just as long as he doesn't go to the Lakers.

My hate has died down over the years, but I still think he's a punk for they way he left. Even if he goes someplace else I'll continue to wish the Heat nothing but losing for the life of the franchise. The only way I'd be happy for Lebron winning another title is if he came back to Cleveland. Other than that I hope he sets a record for most Finals losses.
