Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

You really don't need Love to commit long term (right away) and it is quite feasible to get him in a trade that does not invovle the #1 pick. A combination of a future first, Waiters, and TT would probably get it done. Then you can say hey Lebron we have two all stars in Kyrie and Love, plus who ever we take #1 or use that pick to trade back and gather more assets or another proven vet. Obviously, this my little pipe dream but it is feasible.

With no track record of any kind of success without him? Very little. He's Dan Snyder without LeWaffle.

This is true. Yet I'm not sure we can count on Gilbert to do the right thing in any situation. He was the advocate for Anthony Bennett last year. He's not a GM, or an NBA expert, he's an owner. That's some Jerry Jones shit. Stay out of it.

I think the Love/Golden State deal is just about set in stone. Why pass up on Klay Thompson and David Lee for Waiters, Thompson, and a first round pick? Our current pick has a lot more sway, but I still doubt that it's enough.

The most important part of this for me is making sure Pat Riley lives out the rest of his miserable life without a decent basketball team. I'd like to see LeBron in Cleveland, but as long as he stays away from Miami I know I'll be happy. Awful fans, and I've never liked Riley.

I don't know how set in stone that deals is, I have seen a that the Wolves obviously want deal, but I have heard GS is a little cold feet on giving Thompson up.

As a guy who lived in Akron for 6 years and then moved to florida. It's a one way trip. Sorry.

It's definitely a different strokes for different folks thing. Every time I spend any time in Florida, I can't wait to get out of that humid, cockroach-infested shithole. The Atlantic side is much inferior to the Gulf coast and Miami is easily the crappiest city in the state (I haven't been to Jacksonville).

Wait until the hottest day of the year and then go stand in the local WalMart parking lot for about 8 hours. Just about when you start to see dead relatives from the heat and sun exposure go down to your local biker bar, get drunk and listen to Lynard Skinnard on a loop.

Its the same experience as going to Jacksonville for 1/10 the money.

I'm just making a comparison to Cleveland. I love it in tampa, thought the heat can be unbearable at times. Even worked outside during the summer in college. My number one rule is don't go to a walmart here. The number of homeless is insane. I am not saying florida is the best place on earth. BUT The only thing Cleveland has going for it is 'at least we're not Detroit' there are lots of places I would leave tampa for, one of them Columbus. But never Cleveland.

Wasn't your "one way trip" comment that sparked all of this in reference to Akron?

People with Lebron's bank account don't live in Cleveland.

BTW I've worked at MacDill and stayed in Largo. That won't happen again anytime soon.

A key point to my post is that he is relationship-phobic (and that's not a bad trait)
Despite his immense wealth and the fact he can network with the ultra elite anywhere on the planet
The ones he loves the most and trusts the most are the kids he hung with when he was dirt poor
same for Savannah.. those homies live in Akron Ohio.. and most likely, always will
Akron is not a transient/pass-thru town... VERY common for LIFERS...

He sponsors bike-giveaways and numerous other philanthropic events... in AKRON...
He's paid for upgrades to facilities all over AKRON... He paid for the St V gym.. paid for St V uniforms...

Recently he bought the multi-million dollar home next door... and tore it down
He then added something like a $5million addition to the James compound...
that sure sounds like someone who plans to eventually end up back in Akron

Wish it would happen sooner than later.. but he will retire in Akron with his family
Right now, he's on an extended vacation
