LB Steele Chambers (Official Thread)

Yes. Zach was never playing poorly. He was just playing a different position. Steele switched positions and wasn’t playing that well at first. His floor was way lower than Zach’s. Tommy looks like a different dude completely.
OK. I see your logic. Don't know if Chambers played any defense in high school, but I believe Zach did. OTH, Zach was a senior and began the season at fullback, a position Meyer's offense didn't have much use for, and then was asked to transfer to linebacker for the 7th game of the season - yet he went on to be the teams leading tackler for 2012. And who can forget this: https://youtu.be/mmM9C70atXE .

Eichenberg tried to kill a man at one point against IU
That was an enormous hit because it was more or less in the hole if I recall right. It wasn't a blind side either, Tommy just wrecked the guy straight up.

I honestly think right now our best 2 are Eichenberg and Chambers. Obviously Simon is extremely talented so he has to play but I love the way 35 and 22 are playing.

Not sure if you're joking or not, but LB was the position most fans and OSU analysts thought he should've played coming straight out of HS and not RB. He entered into major logjam at RB(with Dobbins as starter, Teague as primary backup, and then coming in the same class as Crowley) with McCall as the wildcard, and most thought he was a more natural LB than RB.

Not joking. Lots of high schools, especially smaller schools, play their best athletes on both sides of the ball. I don't know if that was the case with Chambers - don't know if it was the case with Boren either.

My point is that the original comment made a comparison between Chambers and Eichenberg and previous Buckeyes. I suggested - didn't insist, suggested - that maybe Zach Boren was someone to consider before making the claim. Not that the claim didn't stand up, but that maybe Boren's case was stronger.
