LB Etienne Sabino (official thread)

I've been a big fan since watching him knock heads on kickoff coverage his freshman year. I was the same way with Brian Rolle. While a lot of people were questioning his size (including me) he continued to make plays and make tackles. I love LB's that fly to the football and have no regard for their bodies. I can't wait for Sabino, Bell, Whiting, Sweat and Storm (all the young LB's) to get more playing time @ the REAL LB U in the next couple of years.

GO BUCKS

Sabino on the field in any role would be deadly, he is primed to be an impact player no matter where it is at.

I'm looking for Sabino to step in at SAM for Spitler, as Im very excited to see Nate Williams at LEO on an every-down basis. However, the D may not look the way we expect, Fickell and Heacock will sort it out and put a quality product on the field. Who would have expected Rolle at Mike 2 years ago and look at the season he's had.

I expected it. He reminds me of a couple of old-school linebackers who weren't the tallest but were among the best to ever play. Mike Curtis of the Baltimore Colts and Nick Buonaconti of the Miami Dolphins (not to be confused with Nick Buonamici the former Buckeye, who was a very good DL IIRC).

As for 'Bino; I agree that he seems like a natural fit at SAM, which is nice considering he is our best "next" LB. The Middle and the Weak side are nailed down quite nicely. To have an athlete like 'Bino waiting in the wings, especially with what has been said about him during bowl practices... Wow. The real LBU indeed

Bino will play ahead of Klein. Klein is the next great MLB, but Bino has payed his dues and is almost a lock to start at Spitler's spot. The light came on for Bino during bowl practice. He is ready to became a star....

Looking forward to it. If he has finally gotten the mental part down, his physical attributes, i.e. size, speed, power, will be fun to watch. Here's hoping Bino really steps it up this coming year.

Who said Klein was better than Bino?

I do not watch them in practice each week during the season. The staff does a great job in putting the best on the field. With a fairly healthy rotation its easy to see 5-6 getting significant time next fall. the best play.
