Army Bowl: East stars of the week
Mike Farrell

12. Latwan Anderson
ATH, 5-11/185, Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville
Committed to West Virginia
Anderson doesn't have ideal size at safety, but it doesn't matter because of his mentality and impressive athleticism. He's not afraid to take on bigger receivers or even tight ends and he will light anyone up who comes across the middle. However, the strength of his game is in pass support where he has great instincts, he flies to the football and he has uncanny ball skills. When the ball is in the air he becomes a receiver on defense and if he picks it, he's an instant threat to take it to the house. He'll also factor on special teams in college and could see some time on offense as well.

Latwan Anderson
...
Frankly, I would not, as the "Old Guard," really want to coach him. He is undisciplined and his own man. Needs an attitude change to a certain degree. If that changes, he can be a player. Now if you read what the fans say, he cannot play. I guess we have to go with that. HUMOR
Coach Ginn worked very hard to help with the growth of Anderson. Give him much credit for effort. Give him much credit for working with O-State. Give O-State credit. They worked to recruit him too. I mean the guy is a talent. But sometimes that is not enough.

With the exception of some hurt pride of Ted Ginn, everything worked out for the best in the recruitment of Latwan Anderson. Many schools agree he can play college football. From what I know about the situation Ohio State is okay. West Virginia is okay. Latwan Anderson is okay. Hopefully, the sun will still comeout tomorrow.

A source close to Latwan Anderson has confirmed that the highly touted safety from Ohio will be taking an official visit to USC this weekend.
The source confirmed that Anderson has described the program as his "dream school" and that he is very likely to commit to the Trojans following this official visit. Anderson, who stands at 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, also holds offers from Florida, Michigan and Ohio State, among other national programs.
Anderson had committed to West Virginia earlier this month during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl as part of a commitment ceremony on network television. Anderson had stated that West Virginia felt like "the best program" for him and that he felt comfortable when he took his visit to Morgantown, leading him to his early January commitment at the bowl. But it appears he may have a change of heart just a few weeks later. USC is believed to be the only other program currently in the mix for the player.

Ask Jamie: Which prospects will land at USC?

How do you see USC finishing out? The Trojans only have 14 commitments to date and seem to be kind of all over the place.

It is not known whether five-star cornerback Latwan Anderson will make his scheduled trip. There has been little contact between Anderson and USC of late.
