Dark Knight Rises.

Terrific. I still prefer Dark Knight simply because of The Joker, but this is a worthy follow-up. The depth and quality of characters is as good as the action and suspense. They did try too hard to mask his voice. There were times you had to guess what he might have said, but for the most part you could work it out.

As Nolan has done all along, tDKR is a terrific deconstruction of the superhero genre.

Catwoman is as good as advertised.

X-Men First Class

I thought it was close to being a very good comic book film. It had high standards to live up to, as the first two X-Men films were outstanding (the third was average and Wolverine was so-so).

There were a lot of touchy-feely, emotional and sociological moments, which bounced between being solid and cheesy (the latter being the catch phrases about mutant pride). It was a pretty good first act after two fairly tired efforts with X3 & Wolverine.

I was a few days late for IMAX. Everyone who saw it there implored me to do the same. It was outstanding without it though (on a solid "regular" screen & sound setup).
