I <3 this movie

I'll tell you what. I would have absolutely LOVED this movie if they left the ending even slightly ambiguous. The whole point of the movie was the teetering between is it or isn't it and in the end they just flat out TELL you. Makes the rest of the movie absolutely pointless.

Just a little bit of mystery would've been nice. Hell, cutting out just 10 seconds of the final scene JUST TEN SECONDS would've made all the difference in the world.

Gah... Sorry for the rant, but that really bugged me.

Well we ended up seeing "The Dark Knight Rises" this afternoon. I think people saying it is the greatest movie ever made is a bit much, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wasn't fond of Ann Hathaway's portrayal, I mean she was more than hot enough, but I don't think she was convincingly ambiguous enough...there was never any doubt what side she would be on or what she would do at the end, at least not to me, which I think weakened it a bit. I was also disappointed by Cotillard, they were wise to keep her off camera as much as they did. I thought the returners were all good though, and I also liked Tom Hardy's performance and the twists at the end. To me they also should have done sonething to reslove the Scarecrow character, since he was one of the few in all 3 movies, but that is a more minor point. All in all, I would probably give it 4.5/5, with 5/5 reserved for TDK, which I thought was still the best of the 3.

I finally saw Dark Knight Rises in IMAX, and...wow! Easily one of my favorites, far and away. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and shaking from the adrenaline when I got up to walk out. It was everything and more that I look for in a movie experience. If it weren't for my insane love of the Tolkien books and excitement for the Hobbit, I'd say it is hands down the movie of the year. I'm waiting for December, though, before I say that.

That's another thing about TDKR.... Epic movie previews.

Oz (new James Franco 'shroom flick )
Hobbit (looks amazing, got chills hearing all of them sing that song)
Man of Steel (fucking Superman, need I say more?!)
Total Rekall (I think that's how they ended up spelling it, looks solid, I'm intrigued)

I think there was another they showed, but I don't remember.

We got the Affleck flick about rescuing hostages from Iran in 1980 under the guise of filming a movie...Argo or something? Looked pretty good...

Well yea, if you know anything about catwoman she usually does pick the right side but after being torn... Knowing the comics can both ruin these types of movies as well as make them better...

Example.. I knew bane wasn't the son of raz cause he has a daughter named talia.. So I had a hunch it was gonna be Miranda..

Makes it more awesome when they throw it subtle references to the comic book.. Example when detective said something about looking for giant crocodiles in the sweet I lold since that was a reference to killer croc

"The Dark Knight Rises"...finally. Fitting and satisfying end to one of, if not the best trilogies is cinema history. No hyperbole here...I really think the three together are that good. As for this installment, outstanding movie, even if it started a little slow. Just a bit behind "The Dark Knight", IMO. I'd give it 8.5/10

Interesting topic. What do you think would be the top trilogies of all time? For me, this Batman and series and LOTR stand alone at the top. Star Wars and Toy Story are good too, probably 3 and 4 for me, but just not on the same level IMO.

I'm not sure what else would contend. Never really liked the Matrix. The Bourne trilogy was good, but not great...
