Lamarcus Joyner (DB New York Jets)

you sound borderline hurricane fan, I know that genron doesn't appreciate overly confident fans who don't listen to the things he has to say, Joyner is not a lock anywhere right now so take it down a notch and just let the process play out, everyone hopes that he will be the next Buckeye legend, but we will just have to wait and see

Wait and see..and read my other posts..I am hardly a hyperbolistic bombastic poser... but if Joyner saw at OSU what I saw when I visited as a HS senior...he will go Buckeye.

No need to lecture me..if I am wrong so be it..but my hopes and belief that he will go to OSU really won't matter to Lamarcus... he will make the decision that is best for him no matter what I post. If my words matter then he isn't doing it right.

But that said: I think OSU is best option for anyone....worked for me.

Genron has made it clear more than once that the lack of confidence in Joyner coming on board has been a bit surprising. Well..color me in the confident column.

And also tally me in the can't wait to watch him play and develop camp..OSU or otherwise.

I was just watching a segment about Lane Kiffin on ESPNews and Lamarcus and Uncle Genron was in the office with him. Pretty cool look inside the recruiting of him. His office is completely different than the was Fat Phil had it set up though...I hated his office.

After that segment the host metioned that Tennesee may have comitted a violation by recording the visit. (How surprising) :shake:

As a big recruiter at USC, did Kiffin learn a single thing? Did he have a serious head injury in Oakland?
Everyone knows a coach can't comment about a recruit until he signs, how did Kiifin mess that up?
I gaurantee you there's somewhere in the NCAA War and Peace guideline book that says what Kiffin did when Joyner was there is illegal.

I'm pretty sure this is exactly what he learned. Forget the rulebook. Do whatever it takes to get recruits.

Until USC is held accountable for anything other than winning NCs the lessons are pretty clear.

It's all good, naturally they're only secondary violations. I wonder if the NCAA has a rule if you accumulate enough secondary violations it equates to a major violation, like points on your drivers license. :tongue2: Serious, Kiffin better watch out.

Sarkisian with UWashington had a similar situation (co-coordinators at USC, both interviewed for the Raiders job, both piling up the secondary violations) with a Los Angeles reporter being in attendance at a meeting between Sark and a handful of recruits.

I wonder if there's anything to ESPN.com mentioning that Florida St. might end up getting Joyner's teammate Keion Payne. They said that, that might strenghten their pull with getting Lamarcus. Not sure if anyone's seen this yet.

I think any reports of Joyner's teammates going somewhere and having pull on Lamarcus would be a little far-fetched. I am not sure if he knew the guys on his team previously, but he has hardly been at STA and I would doubt he has formed the kind of friendships this fast that will influence his college decision. Maybe Genron can help out here, though...

Yeah you're right! I forgot he just transferred there this past school year. Ok, shouldn't read too much into that report then. Real funny style how ESPN was trying to spin that though
