Hey i read a post up there and it said something about LJ never really considered OSU???
Thats a BIG LIE..that's BS. Thats why i hate all these so called sources and things. MY kid is not lkike that. He was not ever playing with OSU. To be honest, they were a right there neck and neck. LJ decided that FSU and OSU were the same. Now I know a ton of you think other wise, including myself, but that's what he concluded with. It was back forth for months. It really started getting to him. He got a girlfriend that he really started liking plus school and trying to win a championship with his team starting getting to him imo. He wanted it to be over. All I know is that I would ask him at the end of every week who was #1 and if he signed that day who would it be. Most of the time it was OSU or undecided. Believe me or not, UF made a strong push to the point he was liking them over both FSU and OSU which surpised me. It was getting crazier by the day. So I told him not to bring in anymore schools or entertain anymore coaches. He had a visit out to ND and all of a sudden ND was #1. I was like WTH! I understood that though b/c hanging around me for a while you'll know ND is one of my fav and the whole laid back religus vibe is cool in my eyes. He really was thinking about going their with his teammates. No joke. So you can see I figure it was getting out of control after I have kept it organized for so long. I let go and let him do what he needed to do. I was reading all that crap about me pushing him one way or the other so let him go think things out for himself. I was never going to influence him one way or the other unless I thought he was going to make a bad decision. He made his choice in the end. Now I did make him drop UF b/c i just didnt like their style and the way they lied so easily to kids. My fav school for him was Bama but he didn't like them. He loved OSU and FSU. OSU coaches are upset at me b/c I wouldn't speak up OSU or tell LJ the benefits of what OSU had to offer. I wanted to stay out of it and let him do the research and figure it out. I did and to let you all know I found out after most of you when he committed. I didn't even know. I dropped him off to his mom house, i got back to my house and while i was going to bed i get a text from coach Hayes that LJ committed to OSU. I thought he lying. I talk to LJ until the next day. I was upset a lil about it but he did it the way he wanted to. OSU is a great program and will always be b/c they develop their players. Unlike my boy UM and previously FSU.
We've moved on ... maybe you should too.

Well, at least we know LJ was getting sophisticated advice throughout the process!

Florida State recruit Joyner eager to escape
Joyner's great escape Liberty City pitfalls
By Ira Schoffel ? DEMOCRAT SENIOR WRITER ? January 31, 2010

FORT LAUDERDALE ? The stereotype tells you he ain't coming.

It's Friday morning. Classes at St. Thomas Aquinas already have begun.

Textbooks are splashed open across desks. Pens and pencils are gliding across paper, being pushed by attentive boys and girls wearing pristine, navy blue uniforms.

And Lamarcus Joyner is nowhere to be found.

The boy who usually picks him up from his mother's cramped duplex in Liberty City isn't coming to school today. It's a cloudy, windy Friday, and the weekend is almost here.

Why would he make it to school? He's Mr. Big Time College Football Recruit; Mr. USA Today National Defensive Player of the Year; Mr. Crown Jewel of Florida State University's 2010 signing class.

And his ride isn't coming. So why would he?

Kiss your 8:30 a.m. appointment goodbye.

He ain't coming.

Breaking away

From his home, which sits just a kickoff return away from bustling Interstate-95, Lamarcus Joyner plots his escape. He hasn't always known where he was going, but he knew he wasn't staying here.

The only future here is hustling.
