Lamarcus Joyner (DB New York Jets)

Check out this article...

Rivals $

Joyner has seen enough to decide (between FSU & OSU), and is now focused on his senior season.

OSU offers what Joyner is looking for to mature as a player and a man. FSU provides the next level tools and is his dream school, but is in-state.

Singles out Tressel & Coley as his favorite coaches.

Could decide at any time, but would like to get it over by his second game in-season.

Wow. Very mature and well thought out points and thoughts from Lamarcus. Hard not to root for a kid like that, especially with all the attention he's receiving, to be that level headed and mature is a great sign of his character. Just hope I get to root for him in the Scarlet and Grey!

Aug 29 - Play against Upper Arlington in the Horseshoe.
Aug 30-Sep 10 - Verbal to FSU or OSU.
Sep 11 - Play back home at STA.
Sep 12 - Come back to the Horseshoe to watch USC-OSU on his official visit.

:banger:

Sorry to be "that guy" and edit out the direct quotes genron (to keep to our 'premium article' rule), but I think I kept the gist of your post intact. Seeing as you might know a thing or two about the recruit being quoted, I figured we could be a little more liberal in the summary

Heard LJ said he wants to make a commitment before their second game...Any truth to that Genron? Also heard he will be camping at FSU.

To be real with you......I dont know.. O-state is just going to have to sweat it out. They have locals in the back ground pushing for them (Coach Smith and Chris Cater) They were 1st up to bat so to speak and now FSU is going to get there 2nd shot in July. OSU still has an official visit up as well. Thats why you saw the 2nd game of the season mentioned. That will be after the USC/O-state game. With him camping at FSU and then seeing O-state for a 2nd time his mind should be made up. I told him that if i spent 4 days at a school and afterward didnt feel like commiting then thats not the school for me. So he's going to have that and the USC game to judge. HE should settle strongly on a team by then.....BUT he's a teenager, they suffer from extreme mood swings and fads. I dont know, Im just a guide yall. I do know this, its going to be between choosing from his head and choosing from his heart...to me forget both. I want him to make the wise decision. That's going to be what i hope for..I'll make sure everything is laid out from each school and I'm done from there. My work for OSU and any other interested school is over. I've spent my hard earned money and provided an opportunity for all. And to note, neither FSU or OSU is my 1st choice but im not going to share my side of the story with him until after he commits/signs.

I would still be worried about all the violations that have taken place at FSU. I understand that their punishment will not be severe, but the NCAA will eventually catch enough heat that they will once again hand out the death penalty to a school. SEC schools along with FSU would certainly be on the short list. I am not a hater of FSU, but I have some questions about the institutional control at FSU.

The bible says if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. So im praying that he'll have that wisdom and factor in everything. Now if he was my blood son...FSU wont even be on the table. But i really do think the coaching staff now have gotten a handle on things and are really going to straighten out the culture there. I really do. Is it going to happen, idk but they'll try hard. I have my issues with every school but I give Lj's top 5 or 2 all the green light.
