Well, soccer isn't really a sport but in this case, I'll allow it.

But that's just it, isn't it?
If they are just worried about kids safety, why are they back in classes and dorms?
But you can have online classes. You can’t play online football. They're not only considering risk, no one does that. They're also considering importance/benefit, and classes are enormously more important than football is. Probably even at Penn St.
I mean it is Clay Travis so, grain of salt and all that, but...I hesitate to post this here, because:
1) politics, and
2) Clay Travis.
But, it involves Kevin Warren and wild speculation (did I mention it's by Clay Travis?), so here you go. link, if you're so inclined
BIG TEN SCHOOLS CANCELED FOOTBALL AND NOW JOE BIDEN IS BLAMING PRESIDENT TRUMP
Travis refers to an earlier article by Pete Thamel:
Can the Big Ten swing a presidential election? Kevin Warren wants to find out
link, if you're so inclined
If we did, can the Buckeyes activate Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson? But you can have online classes. You can’t play online football.
And intramurals are okay why?But that's just it, isn't it?

because you don't have to worry about intramural players no longer being unpaid amateurs?
Someone seems awfully nervous. What's so harmful about "we've got to protect the students from coronavirus", if that's really the reason?
I'd like to see those "valid reasons", nonetheless. It's too easy to hide behind the coronavirus these days. I want to see the minutes.
I don't think anyone here believes we're going to change the decision. We're just not interested in quietly accepting it without honest answers to legitimate questions.
Do you think they cancelled a multi-million dollar season because, why exactly? Do you think they sat around saying "let's piss off Jake, lol"?
Maybe they overreacted, maybe not. I know even a 3rd string long snapper's life isn't worth having a season.
I didn't say you said it, it just seems to me that there are lot of people saying stuff like "secretive! what do they have to hide?, conspiracy!" bullshit and it's really beginning to emit a whiff of BWI. Shall we have a rally for the resignations? What kind of comment is that? I said nothing of the sort.
If you still think this was just about a virus I can't help you. No one is this secretive over such a simple explanation.
And what are they going to say that will defuse the situation? No matter what they say, the people chanting "conspiracy!!!1!" will not be satisfied. Maybe with a 100% capitulation, but are they going to do that? And then OTHER people would be pissed. The way I see it, the course of action often taken is to ignore it.As it is, they leave the appearance of something insidious, and they refuse to do anything to allay that any.

People are acting like the B1G went off the rails and arbitrarily cancelled a season for Illuminati-like reasons.
But the PAC-12 cancelled their season
The MAC cancelled their season
Several smaller conferences cancelled their seasons.
Yeah, none of them are as important to us as OSU/B1G. But again, it is what it is. Seeing a mass cover up is just a waste of energy.
I'm not saying you are believing or saying all this, Jake. I'm just making an observation of the tone of responses I've read.
