If you still think this was just about a virus I can't help you. No one is this secretive over such a simple explanation.

I didn't say you said it, it just seems to me that there are lot of people saying stuff like "secretive! what do they have to hide?, conspiracy!" bullshit and it's really beginning to emit a whiff of BWI. Shall we have a rally for the resignations?

People are acting like the B1G went off the rails and arbitrarily cancelled a season for Illuminati-like reasons.
But the PAC-12 cancelled their season
The MAC cancelled their season
Several smaller conferences cancelled their seasons.

Yeah, none of them are as important to us as OSU/B1G. But again, it is what it is. Seeing a mass cover up is just a waste of energy.

I'm not saying you are believing or saying all this, Jake. I'm just making an observation of the tone of responses I've read.

And what are they going to say that will defuse the situation? No matter what they say, the people chanting "conspiracy!!!1!" will not be satisfied. Maybe with a 100% capitulation, but are they going to do that? And then OTHER people would be pissed. The way I see it, the course of action often taken is to ignore it.

Well to be fair, the MAC cancelled their season knowing their payday's were gone and the other smaller conferences likely had similar economic reasons. Can't really afford football anyway, certainly can't afford to perform COVID testing/protocols.

The PAC cancelled theirs and coincidentally enough, had the only other group of players organizing (as memory serves, not 100% on the timelines).

I don't think it's a mass conspiracy or even all that complicated. They are using COVID as an excuse, and maybe not all that flimsy of one, to buy time to come up with a plan to handle the players being paid trend they see barreling at them.

If that's not it then fine, what else could it be and if it's just plain old vanilla concern for safety then what "harm would be incredible" could come from seeing the minutes of a meeting?
