I thought that Beanie was quoted as saying that he wanted to stay all 4 years and get his degree.
I know it was a few years back, but I have not seen anything different.
He said as late as the beginning of this season that he would stay all four years, but most still didn't believe him.
What he has said in the past and what was in his heart back in August don't mean much when you've got his talent, twelve brothers and sisters, and parents, and an NFL GM offering you a minimum of $50M
now ($25M guaranteed). Certainly, the injuries probably weigh heavily on him and would lean him to declaring and getting the hell out of dodge while there's still enough tread on the tires to get paid. Everybody around him, including Tressel, is going to tell him to go and get his payday, and they'd be giving him the right advice. He can always come back in the off-seasons, or after his NFL career is over, and finish his degree.
The big unknown, for me, is how much being a Buckeye means. Does he follow the example of this years' seniors and return because he values the college experience so much, wants to be a team captain, and wants that Heisman?
Tough call. I am 99.9% certain he goes, and hope he does before he gets seriously hurt and loses that shot. But that 0.1% of me selfishly hopes he stays for one more year, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he did it.
I have a suspicion that he might just be one of those guys that's wired for college. Maybe being a Heisman winner is more important to him than being a Top-5 NFL pick?
