Juniors - who stays and who goes?

Beanie - there is no discussion. He's gone, enjoy his greatness while it lasts.

Washington obviously could go. Could he improve his stock by returning? Maybe, but does he want to stay while his class (which he redshirted into) goes pro? He has been in the doghouse a bit recently as well.

Coleman stands to gain a lot by building on this year's emergence.

Small obviously has had a lot of bumps along the way, and came into action alongside these WRs. Perhaps things can change moving forward.

People are wondering about Hartline because we don't think that his draft stock will improve much with another year of play.
I think Hartline's heart is with Boeckman, Robiskie and those departing.

The reason that Hartline got brought up is that he mentioned before the season that he would like to go out with the current group of guys from his class. And that was before the change at QB, which had a noticeable impact on the production of the passing game. Even though no one publicly said it, the switch of QBs must have beleaguered this group of WRs, whom had been spending all this time jelling with Boeckman. If Hartline goes, I think that the ultimate reason is that the guys with whom he's most comfortable in the passing game are graduating.

I also tend to agree that Small will either stay or transfer, but won't declare for the NFL yet.

if Beanie doesn't leave i'll be too worried next year about him getting seriously hurt to enjoy his awesomeness. he's a great guy, a true Buckeye, and has earned the right to go on to the NFL and make millions and millions of dollars and help out his family. it'll be sad to see him go, but i'll feel a hell of a lot better about it than i did watching some other past juniors skip out early

Donald, without a doubt, EASILY has the most to GAIN by coming back. He will have a year to showcase his coverage skills. He can enter the draft, and probably get taken in the mid-late rounds. His off-field issues will surely hurt his stock as well. I guess the question is would he rather enter the NFL now to escape the college responsibilities and bank on making it in the NFL. That's a bit risky IMO. Especially when he could attempt to keep his nose clean and start an entire season at Cornerback U.

If he comes back and has a good year, he could easily work himself into a second/third round pick and guarantee himself several years in the league.

I'm not sure I agree with those high on Ray's potential. I don't think he has proven himself as a next level returner or receiver. He's had some nice returns this year, but I don't think he's shown top notch return skills a la Ted Ginn, Desean Jackson, Darren Sproles. I don't think Ray posseses the speed of those 3 either...maybe Sproles, but Sproles is also an impossible target at 5'6 185lbs. If Ray were to enter the draft, I'm pretty confident he'd go undrafted. If he comes back and has a good year I think he can work himself into a mid round pick.

Wasn't Hartline rumored to have wanted to enter last year? JWins hit the nail on the head in regards to Hartline IMO. As the cliche goes, he is what he is. His speed is average, his hands are good not great, and his route running is solid. He's a 4th rounder give or take a round whether he leaves this year or next year. I think he leaves with his class...keep in mind, a bad injury ruins his chances of getting to league more than anybody else being discussed. And I just don't think he can raise his stock much.

Coleman's physical tools are very impressive and he'd put on a nice show at the combine. I still don't expect him to go. Again, this is a deep safety class.

Hartline doesn't improve his draft status by staying IMO, so it's whether or not he wants another year of college ball. Hartline was a 4th rounder last year, is a 4th rounder this year, and will be a 4th rounder next year.

Agreed on Coleman but yeah, he'll be back. I see what your saying on Hartline and I tend to agree. You never know though, maybe he gets better next year. Not to mention if we were to get to a BCS game or perhaps even the National Title game (not likely but who knows), he would get more exposure. I think the two losses are going to hurt some of our guys status this year, minus Laurinaitis and Jenkins (imo). If he comes back and Pryor develops more in his throwing and progressions, I think Hartline could help his status.

Beanie has been very vocal about his desire to bring home a Heisman. IF that still remains a strong desire, then I see him staying. If not, then he is probably gone.

Everyone else should stay, imo.

:osu:
You are probably correct when you say everyone else "should" stay but I think Hartline is a goner and Washington might also leave but I do think that Brian is definitely gone.

Wells would be foolish to stay. If he would have another season like this one with the injuries, his draft stock would plummet. Beanie's Heisman will be has NFL contract when he is signed in the first round.

Beanie is the only one with the stats to go. All the rest stay. As for Hartline having the chance to be the #1 receiver in CFB next year.... I like the kid, but you've got to be kidding. He'll be fine, but he'll have his hands full just to remain the big target for OSU, let alone the conference and you can forget the world beyond that.

I almost agree with you but I have no idea who said Hartline would be the #1 receiver in CFB next year. That is ridiculous were ever said that. I don't think that Ohio State will throw the ball like they have in past seasons and that will be one of the reasons, along with his class leaving, that Hartline will go.
I disagree with you when you say you don't think he will make it at the next level. I think he would be a very serviceable WR in the NFL. Good size and speed along with excellent hands.
