It's hilarious to me that you are claiming Penn State is not a rival of Ohio State on an OSU forum that has a thread with a 750 page thread on hating Penn State.

Let me think. Gee, what may have gone on.....something big.....that might have justified a large ped aggy thread? FWIW, there's a thread almost as large on the Shag on ped aggy, and I highly doubt anyone considers them a rival of Texas.

The comparison of PSU to Boise State is valid. Both built up a body of wins against bad competition. PSU is just another Big Ten team. One that hasn't even been in the league very long, and they were certainly not our rival before they joined. Is Rutgers going to be our next rival? Maryland? Penn State supports child rape and throws pee balloons at opposing teams' fans. Say what you will about scUM, but at least they have some sense of decency.

You do realize Penn State beat Ohio State 2 out of 3 times prior to last Saturday in the Shoe...right?

I mean, I could see if Penn State had a terrible record vs. Ohio State, but they don't:

13 wins to 16 losses. Seems pretty competitive to me.

And by the way...Boise State has literally never played USC...so using that comparison is moronic.
