Penn State should have been the unquestioned third best program with many years as a top-2 team, especially with how mediocre Michigan has been in recent years.


Instead they joined a league they thought they'd run and imploded spectacularly without ever recovering. Even when they thought they were returning to glory in the mid 00s, they still got worked far too often in recruiting by a freaking Big East team. Their in state recruiting was so weak that Maryland was their home territory, not Pennsylvania.


Instead of ruling the next tier of programs who barely recruited any recruits of consequence (MSU, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Iowa, etc) if any at all, they became another program.

Which is apparently deserving of your unending quest to prove how worthy of a rival they are. I wonder why.

I would ask you a question, but it's pretty clear you are bringing the youtube comment approach to BP.

Since it's such an unquestioned fact, one would think you could support your own argument and stop demanding that we both prove you wrong and argue it for you. Of course, the last time you defended this rivalry you used 'success against Ohio State' as a form of criteria. When that didn't end well for you, you claimed you didn't lay down any criteria and scoffed at Purdue's inclusion. So I'm sure this time will go much better.

Wisconsin has been much more of a rival than Penn State, and unlike the Happy Valley university that fell apart after joining, they play big boy sports after new years.
