James “not elite” Franklin (HC Penn St. Nittany Lions)

Aren't most college towns quite culty, weird and very insulated(i.e.: Morgantown, Lubbock, Waco, Manhattan, Lawrence, Urbana-Champaign, Iowa City, College Station, Auburn, Oxford, Norman, Bloomington, Fayetteville, Blacksburg, etc)?

Lubbock seemed okay but has some weird drinking laws if I recall correctly. I don't watch Fox or CNN. The bar scene was a blast but the football scene was lame as fuck.

Manhattan is not a little apple but it is an isolated shithole in Kansas with absolutely nothing to do outside Aggieville. The college scene is truly a little brother vibe to other Big XII schools. Even the Greek orgs don't party at their houses which I expected to be the standard in such a shitty town.

Lawrence is at least close to KC for good BBQ 8D. The place reminded me of every suburban strip mall from 1998-2005. At least we keep up on our spelling instead of screaming Rock Chalk! Jayhawk!

Auburn is quite possibly the worst of the ones I ha e been to. It reminded me of every negative stereotype I have ever heard for Southerners. My experience was whiny ass men talking about how Southern they are and women that looked like Honey BooBoo but acted like they looked like Gal Gadot.

Fayetteville after living here seems a lot like Columbus loves it's team sure but one of the biggest cities in the state. Admittingly I haven't been to near University more than a handful of times and most of them are for baseball games with a coworker.

I'm on the outskirts and other then shit ton of Walmarts being everywhere cause their home office is 25 miles away. The only other thing of note is it goes from urban to rural really quick in some areas. Like my large apartment complex with a golf course has a farm with cows right next to it. Work has farms just off the main drag a few miles south of Walmart home office etc. Oh and I guess golf courses are everywhere they love their golf

This is a funny interview. They start talking about future scheduling in the Big Ten in the second half and they call out James Franklin for, and I'm going to add my own language at the front here, being a little bitch who is absolutely desperate to get rid of the Big Ten divisions so he doesn't have to play Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State every season any more. They also mention that Franklin doesn't care about "preserving Penn State rivalries" (a concern for most teams in scheduling), aka he really, really wants to play those three teams as little as possible.

This is a funny complaint that I've noticed that a lot of their fans on BWI/Nittany Lounge have had: that before they were in the Big Ten, they used to have an awesome schedule where they played Notre Dame and Alabama and if they left the Big Ten they could schedule those teams more and they'd play Texas and USC and Clemson and Florida State. And now that they're in the Big Ten they have to play lame opponents in lame locations like Minnesota and Illinois and Iowa. Of course, we all know that before they joined the Big Ten, they had plenty of games against Rutgers and Pitt and Syracuse and West Virginia. And Penn State needs these games against Minnesota and Illinois and Iowa to get themselves their 8-4 record.
