I swear my dad's Penn St fan friends used to give him shit for Ohio State being in "cow town". This was before I had visited either place, so I just assumed it was accurate.

Has anybody explained what sodomy is to the old man down there?Even Joe Pa thinks that's a dumb idea.

Philly in the east, Pittsburgh in the west, Alabama in between.
Alabama, along I-20, is way more developed and densely populated than the desolate stretch of Pennsyltucky on I-80 between the OH/PA border and E. Stroudsburg.
Parts of Beirut are probably more densely populated than Afghanistan. Doesn't stop them both from being 3rd world shit holes full of crazy motherfuckers.
Completely Agree.
That's my point exactly.
Alabama is a backwards shit hole, but Pennsyltucky between Pittsburgh and Philly is even more backwards and shitty.
Aren't most college towns quite culty, weird and very insulated(i.e.: Morgantown, Lubbock, Waco, Manhattan, Lawrence, Urbana-Champaign, Iowa City, College Station, Auburn, Oxford, Norman, Bloomington, Fayetteville, Blacksburg, etc)?Completely Agree.

Clearly you’ve never sat in the hot Mississippi sun and fished for catfish and Buffalo in the Pearl Riversounds a lot like Starkville (remoteness)
except starkvegas is a pleasant place to visit. there just nothing to see/do there.
but the people there are some of the most genuinely polite people you’ll ever meet.

As a current Texas resident who has spent time in some of the State's college towns, I would like to comment.Aren't most college towns quite culty, weird and very insulated(i.e.: Morgantown, Lubbock, Waco, Manhattan, Lawrence, Urbana-Champaign, Iowa City, College Station, Auburn, Oxford, Norman, Bloomington, Fayetteville, Blacksburg, etc)?
