Jameis Winston (QB Browns)

LOL

Terrance Cody running the 40. The animated gif is hilarious but I couldn't find it.

This is probably not what you wanted. Still funny though.

Fortunately for him, its a weak QB class, so he'll get paid the best. Unfortunately for him, he'll get taken by a disaster of a team (Tampa), thrown to the wolves & get eaten alive. All of the early picks that need QB's have just atrocious O-lines and that ruins young careers real quick.

According to Peter King of Sports Illustrated, Jameis Winston, considered by many to be the likely first pick in the NFL Draft, is planning to forgo attending the ceremony in favor of spending the day with his friends and family.

Re: NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he will respect Jameis Winston's decision if he stays at home with his family for the NFL draft rather than attend the event next month in Chicago.

Probably a smart move by Winston to stay in Tallahassee in lieu of going to Chicago where it out out the Tallahassee Police Department's jurisdiction. Apparently he realized that if he would do something stupid in Chicago the police there wouldn't be as likely to "look the other way".

Jimbo on the record:

Jimbo Fisher: Jameis Winston was a victim of "character assassination."

So Fisher had some interesting comments on the radio the other day about his former Florida State QB whose off-field problems -- most notably sexual assault allegations for which he was not charged -- have been well documented over the last two years. I'll print Fisher's words verbatim and leave them without comment.

Fisher responding to a question about Winston's character: "Why is there a question? Because of the character assassination that he's lived through in the media, and the (misinformation) and half-truths that have been printed. What amazes me about this whole process is the un-professionalism of a lot of major newspapers, and a lot of major outlets that did not report the whole truth of the situation and only slanted it for their own opinion.

"Jameis has great character. Did he make mistakes? Yes. Did he make silly mistakes? Yes. I mean, he's still a 20-year-old kid. He and Johnny Manziel are the only two who have ever gone through that pressure of winning a Heisman (as an underclassman). Plus, he won a national championship. No one had ever done what he had done.

"Some of his mistakes come from wanting to be normal. He likes being seen as a normal student, and not Jameis Winston. That got him in trouble by making some poor choices. It wasn't from malice, but just from a little bit of immaturity. He's still just 20 years old. He'll grow through that."

In my wildest imagination I can not see Winston as being a "victim" of anything here.

has FSU ever sent a fixer out to get average students out of felonious destruction of property charges?

Says Jimbo...same guy telling him to STFU on national TV.

Am I the only one sick and tired of 20 year olds being called "kids" when they do something so utterly stupid?

We'll see, Jimbo. If Jameis leads and exemplary life from here on out, I'll concede. If, however, he gets out of the bubble of protection that he had in Tallahassee and into a city where the cops don't give two shits about who he is, and ends up in a jail cell?

And BTW, I think it's safe to say that all the rumors about Manziel in college had some substance or the sob wouldn't be in frickin' rehab right now.
