Jameis Winston (QB Browns)

Well I guess the Judge working the case is the same that handled this.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL; Florida State's Warrick Is Suspended After an Arrest
By JOE DRAPE
Published: October 08, 1999
The Florida State Seminoles yesterday suspended Peter Warrick, the receiver who is a leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy, after he and a teammate were arrested in connection with a scheme to underpay for clothes at a department store in Tallahassee, Fla.

Warrick, 22, and Laveranues Coles, 21, were charged with a single count of grand theft, as was a department store clerk, Rachel Myrtil, 19.

The Tallahassee police charge that Myrtil allowed the two to buy $412.38 worth of clothing -- designer labels such as Nautica and Polo -- for $21.40 on Sept. 29.

Warrick was suspended indefinitely, and will not play Saturday when Florida State (5-0) plays host to the in-state rival Miami (2-2) in a game with national title implications.

The Seminoles have been ranked No. 1 since the preseason in both the news media and coaches polls and are No. 5 in the New York Times computer rankings.

On Tuesday, Oct. 19, four days before Florida State's game at Clemson, with Warrick having already missed two games, Meggs offered a deal in which Warrick would plead no contest to a felony charge and serve five days in jail, or enter a program that would allow the felony to eventually be sealed on his record. "We couldn't take that deal, because Florida State won't allow a felon to play," says Kenny. He countered with an offer for Warrick to plead guilty to a misdemeanor and have him serve 30 days in the county jail after the season. Meggs was agreeable.

Jameis Winston Guilty, Suspended Indefinitely

The witness has reported that Jameis had the craziest look in his eyes and at one point he said "Let's get it on." -- Jameis has denied this statement, claiming that was about an upcoming football game and he is "So not a raper."

Seriously, the local mall cops......errr law enforcement professionals didn't have a problem violating a shoe store. Think they'll give two [Mark May]s about violation g an actual human being?
It's out of their hands now. It's receiving too much attention to ignore. This ain't trinkets for tatts. If he is guilty of anything deserving jail time, it's gotta happen before the season is over.

Report: Jameis Winston sexual battery case stalled when accuser ‘changed her mind’

Police stopped investigating an alleged sexual battery involving Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston when the accuser “changed her mind” about pursuing the case, according to an email obtained Tuesday by the Tallahassee Democrat.

An attorney for Winston denied the reported allegations against his client after they emerged last week.

The email, sent by Tallahassee city manager Anita Favors Thompson to the city commissioners on Nov. 12, states that police began to have trouble contacting the woman a few months after the December 2012 incident:

“Shortly thereafter a representative of the young woman’s family who is an attorney contacted TPD and said the young woman had changed her mind and did not wish to prosecute,” the email said.

The email was sent to Tallahassee officials in response to media requests to access the police report. A redacted copy of the police report was released last Wednesday.

This smells like consensual sex, morning-after regret, and realization that, "Oh, I guess I fucked up when I accused the Heisman front-runner of doing something he really didn't do."

I wish it smelled like something else, but I'm thinking this is a Frank Drebin moment.
