Jameis Winston (QB Browns)

This smells like consensual sex, morning-after regret, and realization that, "Oh, I guess I fucked up when I accused the Heisman front-runner of doing something he really didn't do."

I wish it smelled like something else, but I'm thinking this is a Frank Drebin moment.

Three odors I have always had trouble distinguishing - consensual sex, non-consensual sex, and leftover tilapia.

Where did I say he was a Heisman front-runner last year? I think it's pretty clear he's currently the front-runner for this year's award.

When you said:

Since the woman allegedly declined to press charges and the investigation was ceased in February this would mean that the alleged attack took place sometime last winter. This would be around the time that Winston just finished redshirting his freshman season and WELL before he because a Heisman front-runner.

Personally I think it all is extremely weird. Typically in cases like this if something smells fishy, it likely is.

At this point, I'd say its every bit as likely that it was regret as much as it could have been peer pressure (or flat out threats). I'll wait for the District's/State's decision on whether or not to press charges to see if something sells fishy at that time with that decision and what is said about it.

Several problems with that...
1. The report happened in December of last year; when Winston was still a Redshirt and FSU was on their way to some pointless bowl against Northern Illinois.
2. It was reported immediately after the incident and labwork was done; not the morning after.

If I was going to speculate, I'd guess a monetary settlement was reached behind the scenes... and then it never materialized.
