Acta got tossed for taking his hat off in the dugout while disagreeing with a check swing call. Classic case of an umpire making himself the show, instead of doing his job. Probably the worst, most unnecessary ejection I've seen in all of my years playing/watching baseball.

Brantley flies out to end the game. 4-3 Rangers.

Indians Designate Mike Redmond For Assignment: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

The Indians have designated catcher Mike Redmond for assignment, tweets Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com. In his place, Cleveland promoted Chris Gimenez from Triple-A Columbus.

Redmond, 39, has made just two starts since Carlos Santana joined the big league club. In 22 games for the Tribe this season, the veteran has hit .206/.242/.270. For his career, Redmond owns a slash line of .287/.342/.358.

The catcher can retire comfortably if he chooses to do so. Baseball Reference estimates that Redmond has earned roughly $9MM in his 13-season major league career.

I don't understand why all the chatter regarding the Indians future third-base revolves around Chisenhall when Goedert is hitting the cover off the ball. Also, why don't they just swallow the money that they owe JP for the rest of the season and give one of the above two guys a shot at third. The hell with waiting until next season.

Third-base options: Acta says third baseman Jared Goedert is "making a push" at Columbus.

Goedert is hitting .325 (40-for-123) with 15 homers and 32 RBI in 31 games in Class AAA. He's played 26 games at third, a position that could have a help wanted sign hanging sometime this season if the Indians are able to trade Jhonny Peralta.

He opened the year at Class AA Akron and hit .325 (53-for-163) with seven homers and 32 RBI.

"Goedert is making a push," said Acta. "What can I say?"

Acta said Goedert could get a September call up.

Lonnie Chisenhall is the Tribe's top third-base prospect. He's hitting .267 (71-for-266) with eight homers and 37 RBI at Akron, but is probably a year away from the big leagues.

nice read on Alex White

Indians Prospect Insider: White Lightning

Hafner could possibly be heading to the DL (shocking) he was pulled from the game tonight with a "back issue"

Please tell me that Marte will not be the new DH. I wonder who they will call up.

Travis Hafner was replaced by pinch-hitter Andy Marte in the fourth inning Saturday because of tightness in his upper back. Hafner popped up in his first at-bat and seemed to be in pain
