1. This is the LaPorta we all wanted to see. Maybe a regular spot in the lineup was all he really needed.

2. Donald's defensive woes are disturbing. But, he's showing the bat to be a solid utility infielder/occasional starter for the future.

3. Jayson Nix has been a pleasant surprise thus far. I doubt he keeps it up, but he's been quite effective.

4. Again, Santana is a mensch.

I don't remember where I read it (maybe here), but it was said that his spring training injury was more serious than previously thought. In his stint in Columbus they supposedly completely changed his swing because he wasn't using his lower body because of pain. His swing became almost entirely upper body strength. It looks like the adjustments are paying off along with an everyday spot in the lineup.
