SEATTLE (AP)—The Seattle Mariners have reportedly chosen former Cleveland Indians skipper Eric Wedge as their new manager.

SI.com first reported on Friday that the Mariners had selected Wedge to be their manager after their second 101-loss season in three years. Other media outlets had similar reports late Friday. Wedge becomes the team’s sixth manager since the beginning of the 2007 season.

Asked to comment on media reports about Wedge, the Mariners said there would be no official announcement Friday.

NEW YORK -- Indians first base coach Sandy Alomar Jr. has interviewed with the Toronto Blue Jays to replace Cito Gaston as manager. Foxsports.com reported that Alomar is a finalist for the job.

Alomar, a former All-Star catcher, played for the Indians from 1990 to 2000. He rejoined the organization for the 2010 season on manager Manny Acta's staff as a first base coach and catching instructor.

Adam Miller coming back (again)

Cleveland Indians right-handed pitcher Adam Miller just put the finishing touches on a successful seven months of tedious rehab on his right middle finger out in Goodyear, Arizona. He is as healthy as he has been in a long time, and once again will embark on another quest this spring to finally achieve his dream of pitching in the big leagues.

Best of luck to Adam Miller. He has gone through so much but even though he feels better today than he has in the past three years I can't bring myself around to every thinking he will toe the rubber for the Tribe but I certainly hope so.

I also wish that John Farrell would have taken the Indians job last year when it was offered.
