Indians Tidbits (2010 season)

I don't understand why all the chatter regarding the Indians future third-base revolves around Chisenhall when Goedert is hitting the cover off the ball. Also, why don't they just swallow the money that they owe JP for the rest of the season and give one of the above two guys a shot at third. The hell with waiting until next season.

Prospects aren't always just about numbers. Chisenhall's regarded as a better prospect based on talent. A lot of guys mash in the minors, but that's where they max out their talent. Maybe Goedert can break through that ceiling and is one of those sleeper prospects...who knows. I do hope they give him a shot this year because baby huey is fucking awful. Thank God this should be the last year we're subjected to his fat ass. I just wish he was playing half way decent so we could get something for him at the deadline. Right now, I can't fathom anybody wanting him.

Further on Chisenhall/Goedert...somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Chisenhall was drafted as a 2B, so there could be room for both if Goedert earns a spot too.

I understand what you are saying about number not defining a prosect. Chisen? also bats left-handed which is a plus for a infielder.

I did a quick search and Jared was the one who played a little bit at second base. I could never see where Lonnie played any second base at all.
While he can definitely hit, his defense is what holds him back. Goedert is not flashy defensively, but he makes all the routine plays and has an above average arm. To make him more versatile and push him to Kinston, the Indians moved him from third base to second base near the end of May and he handled the transition well and remained there the rest of the season.

Acta really looked pleased with AM's performance on that run down and nice throw to Santana:!

That was the worst fucking throw imaginable. You could give Brooks Robinson or Mike Schmidt 3 buckets of baseballs and tell them "Ok dude, let's have some fun here...fire it at the catcher's nads, or overthrow him by 20 feet, or fire it in the dugout...I mean fucking miss his ass completely" and they could never muster a throw 1/3 that bad. Who's a good recent defensive 3B, Rolen? Well, you could cut off his glove arm, slice his foot with a hacksaw, and put his testicles in a pair of lockjaw pliers, gouge out his eyeballs with a salad fork...and THEN tell him to execute that rundown, and he would still make a better throw than that. The fucker is such a waste of oxygen, Al Gore should sue his ass for contributing to global warming and not producing shit in return.

And...he was primarily being used as a, uh, a defensive replacement by the Indians... :slappy: :slappy: :slappy:
