Illinois +2.5 at TSUN (ov/un 57.5) Noon ET, ESPN

well, our defense is still sh1t, but we came out and performed against what everyone here thought was a shutdown defense. Overall, i'll take the win and move on to Purdue and look to secure that 7th win.

no offense to guys like Stoneburner and Posey, but these kids have been through a lot the last few years. Let em enjoy a victory and getting bowl eligible.

We feel for those kids (apart from the Mike Sharts of the world). It's the coaches, AD, and fans we find utterly moronic.

Like all those experts over at Stadium and Main proclaiming this offense will be "unstoppable" next year, and all they need is an "average" defense.

All they need for that average defense is to bring in 15 5* recruits and Shawn Merriman.

Well, they're in for another disappointment because they could get worse again next year if they lose Mike Martin to the pros and bring in yet another DC to implement yet another scheme. People over there like to blame this all on youth, and that is a part of it...a bigger part is that those young kids aren't really very good.

Their current DC may have a lucrative career ahead of him as a Rosie O'Donnell impersonator. He certainly won't get another coaching gig.

lmao..this can't be serious?

Unfortunately, I was listening to the game on scUM's radio network, and after the game they asked him how it felt for the defense to get the stop for the victory. He explained that they work so how and the defense made a statement with that play today.

There were some key stops at points in the game, though it's arguable that they were more a function of some pretty horrific playcalling at those points and the points leading up to them. The fact that they still scored 65 points despite Illinois failing to properly capitalize on three first quarter turnovers and Zook/Petrino calling some astonishing predictable series (run, run, pass almost the entire first half) and refused to exploit scUM's atrocious safeties for a large majority of the game is really amazing. As for the illini defense...well, who the hell knows what was going on there.

I expected scUM to lose, but illinois blowing this game is far from shocking...Zook is really good at losing in terrible fashion to bad teams he should beat. I knew after the 1st quarter they'd find a way to lose this and said/typed it repeatedly. Fuck Ron Zook.

...and yes...
Some of us actually follow instructions, and go over the "greatest EVER" threads...

Honeslty, when I saw that score, I thought it was a basketball game...
Then quickly remembered the month we're in.

Did both defenses like, stay HOME today?

That shit is just RIDICULOUS! one HUNDRED and THiRTY TWO points...

Damn...

I can't wait to see what our offense does that team in the Shoe. Good God

Since we have a D unlike Illinois and Indiana. We wont need to score that much. i think TP "could" easily have 4-5 and 350. But since they are not going to score all that much we wont need to go to the air so much. Cant WAIT to humiliate those fuckers like a red headed little bitch!!!!!

You know, Brian Griese was laughing at this shit. I can't blame him, so was I.

Michigan setting more records. Most points allowed in their history and those teams combined for the most points ever in a big ten game.

Michigan had 678 total yards and 5 turnovers. I would like to know if a team has ever had 600+ yards and 5 turnovers in a game.

I thought Illinois was suppose to have a good defense according to some people. My ass that was a good defense. Besides Bowling Green, that might have been the worst defense Michigan has faced all year.

I thought Michigan would lose this game. I thought Michigan could win 2 out of 3 against Penn St, Ill, and Purdue and was laughed at. Now that looks like a possibility. Now watch Purdue make me look like a jackass if they beat Michigan 45-42 next week.
