Illinois +2.5 at TSUN (ov/un 57.5) Noon ET, ESPN

Its silly to act like you just won a championship of some sort when in fact it was a regular season B10 game that improved the teams record to 2-3 in conference.

Then again, we are talking about a program that's so far in the [censored] that they dumped Gatorade on their coach during a 3-9 season.

This. Any win in the Big Ten is cause for celebration...unless Rich Rod won the Big Ten and no one informed me.

What a douche for looking so happy and what douches for showering him in Gatorade.

I just don't see the big deal in celebrating a big win for the program that's been utter shit the last two seasons. people can say "act like you've been there" but the problem is about 60% of this roster hasn't.

as for Tate's tweets, i'm pretty sure I didn't defend that crap either. Much like I never thought Mike Hart was more than a player on the field with a big mouth who didn't know when to shut up.

bang on the defense all day long, they are putrid, but banging on em for celebrating a victory seems silly.

over it now. On to Purdue.

How do you feel about the Illinois victory IF, in fact, it did save RichRod's ass?

I was really happy that they won. I was utterly disgusted by the play of the defense. It was pretty embarrassing. I'm a supporter of whatever coach is there. If it does save his job, i'm going to support him. But I think there needs to be some serious changes on the defensive side of the ball. Those types of changes seemed to work of Zook, as up until the UM game his defense had been really impressive.

If they lose the next three and fire him, i'll support whoever they bring in. But I think they will at least beat Purdue and go to a bowl game and he's back for one more season.

Now if you want really fucking silly look no further than creating a non existent argument so you can defeat it to make yourself feel better. That is fucking silly.

Meh, let them celebrate. They don't get to do it very often.

Are you of the mind that, given enough time, RichRod can turn Michigan into a BigTen power? I ask this, because obviously, he's been well below expectations and I don't see anything pointing to a massive upswing. If I was you, and I'd been taking this in the shorts for three years; then I'd being praying like mad that this cat was gone in short order. Just a difference of perspective.

I will never root against my own team just so a coach would get fired. I don't understand that mentality of some of these "fans" that just hate the guy so much they want to see their own team fail so he'll get fired.

IMO, the defense seems to be the issue right now. I don't know how their pecking order works. People some Grob sucks, other say he's good but RR thumb on everything is holding them back, I really don't know. What I know is something needs to be done with it and someone needs to step in and figure it out.

Injuries and lack of depth and talent can only buy you so long.

Nothing wrong with celebrating awin, any win, especially if the win is a 3OT win. However, think about how sad it is....a comment on the state of the scUM football program....that you classify the victory over ILLINOIS as being a big win for the program. It is hard for me to fathom that any skunkbear fan anywhere would classify a victory over ILLINOIS....a victory that "improves" the weasels Big Ten record to 2-3....as being a big win for the program. And here I thought after listening to skunkbear fans for all of these years that scUM had a "storied" program.

I get supporting the current coach, whomever it may be, but I have one simple question for you: After the season if given a choice of DickWad coming back next year or having Harbaugh take over the program would you have a preference?

I was happy to see the win just so RR could keep his job :)

For the record, I wasn't talking about active hope for destruction; but instead, an apathy that arises from the misery that has come from diminished expectations.

I just don't see it happening with RichRod. Yes, I'm being pessimistic; however, this cat has never shown me anything otherwise.

And it's not going to get better any time soon. Personally, I think RichRod is lost, and he's not going to ever field the talent or the scheme on the defensive side for Michigan to be successful.

with 18 starters coming back next year, I would stay with what we have. But if Harbaugh wants to come back and be our defensive coordinator, I won't turn it down......

another year older, another year better, right?

Umm, have you seen the progression as they've gotten "older" over the last three years. With that kind of "better" they'll give up 50 a game next year.

You are aware that after this season DickWad's defense will have given up more points in three years than Bo's did in a decade (70's), aren't you?
