If defensive staff changes are coming, who should OSU be looking to hire?

Could you explain? Seriously, I don't know the negative history

In addition to the two reasons that have already been mentioned, I dated a girl who was born and raised in State College. Both of her parents worked at the university, her father was a professor. They all knew the Johnsons, and Paternos personally, and the consensus opinion in that family, who I respected, were that both nearly every member of both the Johnson and Paterno families were pompous megalomaniacs, an generally just pretentious, truculent, assholes. Apparently, amongst the faculty, there was a deep resentment for Paterno and the coaching staff. If what I understood to be true about Larry Johnson as a person, long before the Sandusky crimes were discovered, I wouldn't want that guy within 1000 yards of the Ohio State campus, let alone on the coaching staff. FWIW, I guess Tony Johnson isn't near the prick his father or older brother are, but he's also not the favorite son.

Lied to recruits by telling them that Ohio State is racist and does not take care of their black athletes (essentially they want to see them fail). It worked a few times and as Litl said, FUCK Larry Johnson and everything he stands for.

I'm still quite stunned, unless someone that isn't connected to the program has better googlin power, that there haven't been any real "rumors" out there. Its very interesting how quite this search has been. 11 Warriors/LGHL etc have thrown out list but nothing that been substantiated, out side of what Wade says
He thinks he knows
(please dont take that as knock as I stand with Wade). Am I the only one who finds the quietness of the search very interesting?

Agreed. I like that we are doing our due diligence but with the speed things have moved for other programs (Bama, *ichigan, USC, PSU, etc.), I think it seems like we are moving slowly when we really are not. That being said, it is really odd names are not being talked about with some level of substantiation.

I had a college professor that said she worked at Penn State. She told me this back in 2005, way before all the Paterno is scum stuff came out in the media. I asked her if she ever met Joe Paterno. She said that she had a few football players failing her class. So she got a phone call from Joe demanding her to change their grades. She refused and he threw a shit fit. But eventually said he would handle the matter internally. She had no good words to say about Paterno.

Urban can take his time with this being the dead period and the convention going on. He mentioned he had a list of potential coaching hires while he was out of football for the one year. So I'm sure he always has a list of potential hires at every position. It's just finding the right guys that can be the best fit.
