89 degrees. Nice breeze outside. The ocean looks really inviting and here I sit at work. :(

Sometimes the best part of these articles are reading the comments

Way to go Yahoo, you've managed to #$%$ off a whole lot of Americans by your offensive use of an Arabic word that does'nt belong in a report about a DUST STORM in Phoenix. In case you've forgotten, this is America,we speak ENGLISH here and i'm sure NO ONE has forgotten 9/11 brought to us by the same people that brought Yahoo the word Haboob !!!!

It is so hot and steamy the neck of my white dress shirt is probably permanently stained...on the flip side I love the "dress" clothes women can wear in this weather....

Sure it's hot and you're irritated, but that's no excuse for stealing lines from the Lovin' Spoonful, Hot town, summer in the city, back of my neck gettin' dirty and gritty... Cool town, evenin' in the city, girls dressin' so fine and lookin' so pretty.

It's gonna be another scorcher here in NH, "they" say 90 is possible today.

It's funny how people react to aberrations in the weather they're used to. You're saying 90 is a scorcher. Here in Nebraska we'd be ecstatic over 90 degrees. I went for a two-mile walk last night at 9:30 and it was 95 degrees, and it felt cool to me. It's been near or over 100 degrees the past week here, and heat indexes have been between 105 and 115. Crazy heat.

My cousin in Phoenix has no sympathy for me, though. To them, that's a normal summer temperature.

When we lived in San Francisco, being from the Great Plains the winters on the Left Coast were a dream - mid-40s, some rain, a light dusting of frost in the morning, but mid-50s to mid-60s in the afternoon, with rain. The locals were wearing parkas zipped up with drawstrings pulled tight, shivering in the cold. We were wearing light jackets and saying how great it was.

Most people in NH don't have air conditioning

I go back to Zanesville on occasion and I can't believe I lived in that heat.

During January I can tell the difference between -5F and 0F. The cold does not bother me in the least. I ice fish (sometimes 30+inches of ice) and snowmobile and I rarely get cold. I do, however, dress for the occasion.

Guess I'd rather sit in front of a woodstove for 4 months than sit in front of an air conditioner. Also, Dub is correct, few people around here have much in the way of A/C. I can't justify the electric bill, I just open windows at 7PM and close them when I wake up. My house is at 72 right now...
