Both of my parents dodged the same tornado in Zanesville a couple weeks ago. I heard it pass by my mom when I was on the phone with her. Shit’s been crazy.
Question for you guys. My mom lives in an apartment with no great safety area. Her garage is under the same roof as her bathroom. Safer to hide in the bathtub, or in the vehicle? My thought process is if the roof gets blown off the structure, I’d rather be in a vehicle surrounded by steel than a bathtub. But I don’t know if that’s the right answer. Car also has a lot of glass.

You should also consider wind-blown debris. Growing up in Kansas, I have seen a shingle blown through a window and embedded in the drywall. Never underestimate what a 120 mph wind can do.

In Arizona we can get some pretty nasty monsoon storms but when I was in the service my school was at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls TX. Holy balls, what storms. I was never in a tornado but those thunder storms were a lot scarier than what we get here in AZ.
