HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

See ya.

Know what else has gotten worse? The team that we all root for.

Go back to Bucknuts
Wait, so we win the games we are supposed to and that’s getting worse ? I don’t know what people expect. Urban got blown out in games he was supposed to win. It seems like we are having a bit of revisionist history here. Day has a higher win percentage in games that we are clearly supposed to win but that’s lost because it doesn’t fit your narrative. Days had a couple of ugly losses but most of those were during the Coombs year or against TCUN and they had to cheat to do that. It seems like people keep establishing bull crap reasons to hate Day, even though we love Urban and Tressel who had more losses to teams we “should have beat”.

I agree with much of what you say. However, Ryan Day is employed by tOSU, not the players on the team. tOSU pays him alot of money to win football games and, yes, championships. Certainly, developing players who are then successful in the NFL is helpful in recruiting, but that is not the ultimate goal. Winning games and championships is.
OSU pays him good money to win and run a clean program. He does both. Winning championships is a bonus. Now he definitely has the talent to win championships but only one coach a year can say theyve done that. For that to be an expectation of job performance means a lot of us fans are going to get disappointed year in and year out. We are spoiled with this expectation. It’s a bonus to win one. We should expect to beat TCUN and he has fallen short there. But the things he should do outside of that, have been mostly done.
