GA DB KJ Bolden (Georgia Signee)

Completely agree. That’s not sustainable to pay one kid 2+ mil per year.

Laughable though that FSU just waited until the end and then dropped a bag for the win. Just hilarious if you think about all the hard work OSU and UGA probably put into this.

Apparently KJ has no aspirations to win a natty that’s for sure

No one is saying “no” to $2.2MM. (No matter what we think the odds of delivery might be)

The last part is what the m getting at.

Learning quickly is the key to success in a rapidly changing environment. Not sure anyone can say we are doing that.

Charlie Brown seems to have had the 5 star defensive recruit football pulled away much more often than not the past few years.

Brian Hartline isn’t going to be there to save their ass in recruiting rankings forever.
This is an interesting point.

Why is Hartline NOT having this NIL issue?

Oh for sure…. But you have to figure there’s 1.5-2 mil on the table from someone else.

The way I see it is KJ thought 200-500k is worth sacrificing a championship for etc. Not saying that’s wrong either but it’s not like he wasn’t going to make anything at OSU/UGA.

Our defense is horrible. People have talked themselves into the usual summertime sunshine pumping echo chamber belief that domination starts this year but the on field results are awful.

So no, we aren’t doing as as well as can be expected. If you have a true leader he understands that no one cares how hard it is. You are judged by how well you find a way. That’s it. There is no participation or good sportsmanship trophy coming.
Agree the defense sucks. But we were inches from beating GA and winning the Natty last year. And we had 3 starters in the secondary go undtafted.

If every elite 5 star just wants the biggest bag...Go get some quality 4 star kids that you can coach up and keep the culture right.

Yeah. Who knows?

Something is obviously very wrong. Not my job to figure it out. That falls at the feet of the millionaire brain trust in the WHAC

If you're serious about playing in the NFL, you shouldn't care about winning a natty either.

I believe the current narrative is that the southern coaches have convinced all defensive recruits they won’t get to the NFL if they don't stay in the South to play.

Seems completely insurmountable, I know but the defensive coaches are doing their best, I’m sure.

How sure are we that the culture is right?

What a freaking gut punch.
Pivot to new names on the board. And the Portal will always be an option. And it seems like that will have to be a viable option for defensive recruiting going forward. Getting defensive players from the south is the tallest of tasks. But if you can get a kid who produced at a lower tier program, than you take a flier on him(I.e. Igbinosun, Carter, McAllister, etc)
