my offical vote, looks sexy as of right now

yea thats my thoughts as well. as long as the white letters in the endzone have the bold gray outline around them i think it will look spectacular. my only "complaint" is where they laid down 2 rolls of red down for the endzone it appears to be 2 shades of red but im going to assume it just needs brushed and it will blend together.

I'm assuming that the "dressing"/"top fill" is forced through the carpet?

it is brushed in just so it settles to the very bottom of the lining of the carpet. there is a pic a couple pages back that illustrates it. its not exactly forced through the carpet just settled deep within the turf and then the blades of "grass" stick out over it.

actually i am really pumped up for another open to the public night practice like they had last year. obviously i have no clue if they are actually having one but i would think tressel would want the guys to get used to the new turf for the first game.......so hey who knows.

its the same as the field behind the shoe, between the towers.. idk about the indoor fields though..

is it the same as that field? this is just my opinion but the field by the towers sucks to play football on. you consistently lose your footing in it, slide, and pieces of the field rip out but thats just me.

played rugby on it just fine..

i know we went to play backyard football there one day and we werent allowed because they were making repairs?

i believe its actually a cheaper version.. it's spongy but it dosen't have the little rubber balls if i remember correctly.. its been awhile since i've been there

no i don't believe it has the grinded up rubber. i am not really familiar with what the material is but it is similar in its purpose. i hate that field with a passion. it is coarse and the footing is terrible for me at least. you can sink into it with your feet but it in no way feels natural and the turf just gives because it seems as if there is very little support which is why we usually just play in the real grass areas next to the field. who knows i guess.

see this is what i mean about the 2 shades of scarlet in the endzone. it could be that its just not brushed in but it seems like the innermost portion on both endzones is a lighter color of scarlet than the outside ones.

That is rather strange. It's probably just the direction of the light and how the roll of carpet was manufactured. Artifical turf has grain just like real grass. When you mow it or brush it or whatever, you affect that grain. This accounts for the light and dark stripes you see in turfgrass, especially cool season turfgrasses, when you cut them with a reel type mower. It's just the direction that the plants are oriented, light stripe, away from you, dark stripe, toward you.

yea thats what i thought earlier and i checked it again this morning and it was vice versa with the outer endzone rolls being the lighter ones so i guess it just needs brushed and it will look uniform together.

It's just the "grain" - the direction the blades of artificial grass are leaning. Makes one look lighter and one darker. If they lean away from you it looks lighter, and vice versa if they lean toward you. It wll go away once all the blades are standing up.
