Field conditions at Ohio Stadium

I can't wait till they get the initial laydown finished. I want to see how they handle the logos, hashes and numbers. The topdressing of the sand and rubber will take a long time to complete, it's sort of a slow process, depending on how many crews they have there. Looks like only one or maybe two.

yea that will be a while. i saw they dropped off the brush/comber/filler in whatever things off outside the stadium and it looked like there were 2 of them in the crate but they may already have some.

Probably because once they start topdressing, that baby will be hot enough to cook eggs in the afternoon. Believe me, Fieldturf+sunlight=hot footing.
wear an insulated boot. im serious as hell. in college when i worked on a road crew i had two pairs of boots. one regular pair and an insulated pair if i was working on/near blacktop/asphalt all day. trust me if youve spent 10 mins near a paver you know what im talking about. oh the good old college days.... [end trip down memory lane]

Try spending all day marching on the grinder at Parris Island in the middle of July in black flag conditions.

Yes sir, but it was nice in the mornings for conditioning when it would be slightly warm and we're laying on it strecthing

The only beef i have with it is the burns and the rubber guys getting in your shoes.. other than that its awesome.. not better than grass but if we get states back to the shoe, and no more muddy mess it'll be well worth it

What's the long term upkeep on fieldturf? Does the fill material need to be "topped off" occasionally? How do they handle patching/repairs etc?
