Field conditions at Ohio Stadium

who remembers the "diamonds" endzones?

yea those were sweet. they were the unique osu version of tennessee's checkered endzones. personally as long as there is the gray outline of the white letters on the field i think it will look fine. it will be distinct yet still have gray in the lettering to keep the tradition of scarlet and gray but then again i am just picturing it in my head in a positive manner.

If they use the current end zone font in gray like below, it would fuckin' rock...

Love it. Had a dream our field looked like that. Except the BCS logo was replaced with the stripes on the helmet.

I dont' personally remember them, but I've seen footage. 50's and early 60's, yes?
I may be in the minority but since we have 'throwback uni's' why not throwback endzones and bring back the diagonal lines or diamonds? i think on field turf it would look sick

Even John Gilman agrees that nothing beats a great grass field for football. "But how many truly great grass fields are there?" Gilman asked. "How many hold up that way through a complete season? And can you justify having a field that you can use only eight or so times a year?"
Does that seem like a sales pitch for artificial turf? It's no coincidence, as Gilman is CEO of FieldTurf Tarkett. And if his pitch seemed to hit close to home, there's a reason.
Unless you've been living under a mound of grass clippings, you know by now that FieldTurf, the leader by far in the new generation of "in-fill" artificial turfs, is about to blanket Ohio Stadium. Work on installing the new top on the floor on the Horseshoe began yesterday.

In the home stretch...down to about the south 20 yard line.

yea they are. i look for them to finish up the rest of the length of the field(if they don't today) tomorrow and maybe start on whatever they decide to do next which i would think would be logos/letters but most likely the sidelines and the rest of the turf to be laid down. i wonder if there will actually be red turf outlining the field as they modeled it.
