Sorry, but any show that mentions "What about when God told Abraham to kill Issac?" Then shows Lincoln blowing away Issac Hayes is just damned funny.

South park has its moments of political genius and humor. Yes, it can be grotesque at times; which has a tendancy to get old.

If you don't have a stupid sense of humor, dont watch family guy...its that simple. If you like something a little more 'straight up', SP is all you. Both
when written correctly are just plain hilarious though.

"Maybe we can't see heaven because one of us is a j-o-o"

Again, how can you not laugh at that?

both make me

South Park for me, although Family Guy is a close 2nd.
South Park will occasionally have a crappy episode (Christmas poo anyone? j/k). Then they'll come up with something genius like the World of Warcraft spoof episode. If you've seen more than 10 minutes of the game, or played any other MMO before, its gold.
I like a lot of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's movies too: Cannibals: The Musical (Hard to find, and real low budget), Orgazmo, Basketball, Team America (To a lesser extent).

Both shows are on a definite decline. South Park sold out to celebrity bashing and toilet humor long ago, while new Family Guy episodes are getting way to predictable. Please don't try and tell me Family Guy is sophisticated either. Pop culture references and making fun of conservatives (they make fun of libs too, just not near as much) is not sophistication. South Park lets the news tell them their next storyline. Family Guy lets VH1 tell them their next storyline.

I do like and watch both shows, BTW.

Umm no they don't. If anything family guy lets old sitcoms determine their next episode, and I still don't even think that is a totally accurate statement. Name one episode where the whole story line was based on some current event going on in pop culture. Is there pop culture reference in every episode? Yes. Are story lines based on pop culture/current events that are going on right then? no.

South Park has become hit or miss.

It is either trying to be vulgar for the sake of being vulgar. (this weeks poo show)

Or they are just ripping on someone who desperately needs it. (The museum of Tolerance for example)

Family Guy just seems random for random sake.

Well there was the one from last year where Brian campaigned for same-sex marriages, which was the primary storyline.

Of course, Mayor West using the issue to hide his misuse of funds to build a giant Dig 'Em Frog Statue was classic.

Give me Futurama & King of the Hill any day.

I've been watching Futurama on Cartoon Network a lot lately and although I always liked the show, after multiple viewings of the same episodes, I'm really beginning to see how brilliant a show it was. Too bad it didn't last longer as it could have achieved Simpsons status, which of course is the standard of measure by which all other cartoon sitcoms should and shall be judged for all time.
