Yeah, the Doctor and Harkness are set to "Essential" NPCs due to the Replicated Man quest line. Depending on your choices in that quest you could at least kill the Doctor (Unless you're talking about Li). I'm not sure you can kill Harkness by any means through your choices on that quest. The best you could do is help the Doctor recover his android...then you may have an empty city :wink2: Not sure if you have the PC version or not, but someone made a mod so you can kill the kids in Fallout. Felt good wiping out Little Lamplight after lilstenin' to those little twirps for awhile.

Not Zimmer, the regular doctor you go see when you are addicted, etc... Meh, either way, I am going through now to try and get good karma, lot of quests I missed by just blowing people away, as well as a few good perks I missed, the hemotage perk is awesome, first time through I just walked in and blew away the family, then went back to the town and killed everyone there

I remember in the game Morrowind, I was going on a killing spree and I ended up killing someone so important that the game prompted me saying I "could no longer continue the main story" and then it reloaded from my last save

You, unfortunately, can't kill anyone that's essential to the main quest, you can kill almost all other quest givers through, it just pops up a box "Mr. Crowley is dead, you can't do Gotta Shoot em in the Head" or something like that. I think in my last game I must have killed just about everyone, though I am sure as I explore more in this game I will find a few places I missed and have to resist the urge to blow them away.

I heard a rumor that if you kill dogmeat you can get a second party member, anyone tried on the 360? I don't really use the dog anymore, once you get a real party member he becomes a liability more than anything else.

You know, someone reported an issue with items disappearing from the containers on the 1st floor of their Megaton house. The Fallout modders looked into it and realized that the containers on the 1st floor didn't all have your player set as the "owner." So...it was determined that random NPCs were walking into your private house and looting the chests/shelves.

As a fix, people left Dogmeat at their house as a guard dog...along with 20 Frag Mines planted on the first floor  I haven't gone back to the forums yet to see if anyone posted screenshots of dead people in their house.

As far as Dogmeat in combat, I haven't had any issues with him. On my two game files I've reloaded two or three times due to Dogmeat dying, usually because ANOTHER NPC did something stupid (Charon went ballistic with his Combat Shotgun, blew up a HUGE line of cars instead of a Super Mutant...turns out Dogmeat can fly!).

I haven't ever had any issues with any of my stuff being looted from my Megaton house, although I did once drop a bunch of items and permanently lost two or three things, including a Chinese Assault Rifle that was in excellent repair. I think those found the 'fall through the floor' bug.

So, I am at 46/50 xbox 360 achievements, all that's left is to go through neutral and the 50 speech contests, I figure I can go, do Reilley's Rangers, and get that armor, then go and do the quest to get the dec of independence, let the bitch die, take her gun and just go through 20 levels killing stuff instead of worrying about quests, seems like the easiest way to me.

Finally done with all 50 achievements and beat the game on hard mode.

I have to say, the most fun in that game is exploring, the best radio parts are turning in that Bryan kid to the slavers, and killing threedog.

Great game, now back to my alcoholic lifestyle.

I'm getting really pissed about there not being a patch for this to get trophy support on the PS3 ... and the fact that the PS3 isn't getting any DLC either.

Well the game was also a little buggy, I had a few crashes on my way through that just pissed me off. Like discovering a bunch of locations, getting a schematic, then killing a mirelurk and having the game lock up. Still a great fucking game, but they could have used a little more beta testing.
