F Mickey Mitchell (transfer to Arizona State)

REALLY excited for Mickey, his future with us, and that this whole ordeal is FINALLY behind him.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of regular playing time he'll get, because I'm not sure how college ready his defense is yet. However, with Grandstaff now gone and Mickey having great handles and passing ability, I think he'll certainly play a role on this team this year. Excited to see what Mickey can finally do on the court!

I agree, I think Mickey can earn a role on this team. I hope Matta is willing to throw him out there vs. KY, as it seems certain that they won't be winning the game anyway so it's not like playing Mickey will cost them all that much if he struggles with it being his first game.

But the NCAA doesn't owe us an explanation of why they took so long? They just clear him and that's all they have to say? Sorry, but that's not good enough for me, I want some straight answers for why they didn't clear him until after 10 games (slightly under 1/3 of the season) had been played. I know we're all glad he's finally been cleared, but it's still time to be angry with the NCAA because they have kept a kid from being eligible, forcing him to miss games with no apparent justification for that.

Fortunately he's been practicing with the team all season.
Fortunately he's still excited to be a Buckeye and get playing.
Fortunately he plays a spot that the Buckeyes could use a jolt in - which is pretty much all of them.

Could be the floor leader the team needs desparately. Welcome to the fold master Mitchell!!!

From what little I know about Mickey, I do not see him being the savior for this team. He really is not known for prolific scoring but more for his ability to set up people to score. Plus, even though he has been practicing with the team I am not sure how good he will be initially playing defense in college. He does bring some height to the team along with his athleticism which should help.
