Your point is well made. The only difference I see is that each of the people you listed were incredible drivers. Some of the best who ever lived.

Absolutely, they were just the most prominent examples that came to mind (I grew up as an honest to god Foyt fanboy). Even if you don't count the elite guys there have been tons of drivers who have competed in more than one form of racing during the same time frame. Racers, race; it's what they do.

The problem - as others have pointed out - out isn't Patrick, it's the media exploitation of her.

True. That said, I'd like to exploit her too.

I would exploit her like the Angry Hammer of Thor.

I mean, seriously. Any male who complains about more media coverage of this fox ... well, I suppose, guys, it's OK to join the army now.

Someone brought up to me that Skip Bayless was speaking about Thad Matta going off on Evan Ravenel at Northwestern.

I don't watch ESPN anymore outside of games, but is this list of people who "Trolls" for a living (at ESPN) complete:

Skip Bayless
Cris Carter
Colin Cowherd
Mark May
Stephen Smith

I think I got everyone who fake argues.

I like her personally because she comes off as down-to-earth and doesn't outwardly use the fact she's female as an agenda. In fact, it seems she simply doesn't want folks to look at her as a female driver but just a driver. But, unfortunately, once the media (i.e., E$PiN) gets their hooks in you, you're going to be hyped ad naseum...

false

she whines and complains whenever she doesn't get her way, and after daytona said everyone was out to get her that's why she fell back late

I've seen her dozens of times on TV (not counting commercials) and I've never once heard her whine or bitch about anything...not once.

Not that I care either way, but lots of star athletes are that way. Just watch the NBA talk about a bunch of whiny little bitches....or how about 90% of NFL wide receivers....

well, considering she's not all that talented makes it worse..

it's a little bit different in racing when accidents are part of the sport, most drivers realize this, when they get wrecked usually just say, that's part of racing, or i know he didn't mean to..

but not danica, it's never her fault, ever, her and kyle busch would get a long great

Good write-up on FOX Sports 1, launching Aug. 17, and it going up against ESPN.

The network (FS1) still needs more Tier 1 sports, which makes negotiations with the Big Ten very interesting (in a few years).

FS1 -- now SPEED -- is showing MLB games later this summer.
They will draw big-time from NASCAR and UFC fans. Also, you are correct it will be interesting to see what happens when the B1G renegotiates the Big Ten network with this lame network.

Yep, get ready to watch Purdue/Indiana on FX (just prior to an all-new Archer or The Americans).

Seriously though, I keep thinking FOX is going to try to entice the Big Ten by making the ownership of BTN different (it's 51-49 FOX right now).

I can't even imagine ESPN's coverage of the Big Ten if the league had no contracts with the network.
