Looks like Schiano is gonna be pressed to stick around for at least another year. Can't lose 3 coaches on one side of the ball. Really hoping LJ came on board as a lifer, one of the best DL coaches in the country.
That's my thought... Schiano should be able to nab a program as meaningful as a Minnesota or a Colorado. No need for him to stretch for a job like Florida Atlantic where he will fail.At this point youd think Schiano would stick around another year considering theres no really desirable job openings left.
Always wary of local sources but seems like Coombs is going with him.
Bad for us, but we'll be fine I'm sure, and Fick is well on his way to assembling a great staff down there.

I see them recruiting from Columbus on down as a base, and doing it well. I can see a number of kids that would've left for possible OOS destinations like UK, would go to UCWas thinking Freeman would be a sure-fire hire. Hazell, too, can redeem himself a bit. Heard Taver was up for some jobs including at Texas but if those fell through I could see him ending up in Cincinnati if he isn't retained by Brohm. If all or any of those pieces fall into place I could see them doing big things and fast. Fickell and Coombs will recruit the hell out of Cincinnati.

I may be biased but why leave OSU for UC and NOT be head coach? Move up the ranks at OSU and then leave for a head coaching gig. He'd be much more attractive coming from a successful program than getting looks as an associate head coach at what could be a less (maybe much less) successful UC program.
Don't get me wrong, I am definitely happy for Coombs and grateful fot everything he has done.
