Wisconsin's Fickell to return in 2026, AD says

Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell will return to lead the Badgers in 2026, athletic director Chris McIntosh told ESPN on Thursday.

I can see it I guess. I mean A) his injury at QB history is struck by lightning 8 times in a row kind of bad and B) the way the coaching market has blown open, do you really want to be a buyer given the limited appeal of the Wisconsin job? Also, the AD hinted at it before but looking at the talent level on the roster, how much NIL help is Luke getting? Seems like one of those rare instances where the AD stood up and said he hasn't done enough before just firing the coach.

Happy for Luke. He's a solid coach, give him some time and some better luck and see what happens.

Luke has proven to be a good coach in the past so this is really of a case of owing him a bunch of money and who would they get that can do better?
