Ha.....that would be the ultimate True Buckeye thing to do. Cinci already sucks, so what's one more year of shitty QB play? You give Urban an easy "oh.....no......hate to see you go but BYE", then you can fire him after year 1.

He will continue to coach until tOSU's season is done, just like Herman. The announcement should come sooner... Though his recruiting responsibilities for tOSU would decline.

Unless there are important recruits Fickell is targeting like Drayton targeting Weber. But that is not comparable to this situation because Drayton was going to the NFL and could wait until after signing day. Mostly the announcement for HCs is done before the bowl game. Very few after. For practical considerations. Assistant coaching transfers may be able to wait. Just what I've seen in my time following coaching changes.

Can you remember an assistance coach who took his eye off the ball to interview when coaching a team playing for a national championship?

LOL. The last time UC got an OSU DC who won a national title they made out pretty well...Short term memory down there. Cincy would be a good job for Fickell. Good facilities and he'll have a good shot at doing well there. Better than going to a bottom barrel power 5 school if you ask me. And with Hazell getting fired at Purdue, he will have the chance to put together a good staff without likely doing too much poaching here. Thinking Hazell as an OC potentially, and Marcus Freeman for DC or at least LB coach. Maybe he snags Coombs or Taver Johnson depending how his job prospects shake out.
