Gonna be a strange sight not seeing him on the sidelines anymore
Where did it say Coombs was going?Him and Combs are going to give those kids who don't got to tOSU but have talent a viable option instead of UM, MSU, and UK.
Fickell hasn't been announced, so that will not be official either.Where did it say Coombs was going?
Is that the word though? Coombs that is?Fickell hasn't been announced, so that will not be official either.
Did Guiton go with Herman to Texas?Saw something, somewhere that said Fick is signed, sealed, and delivered. Glad to see it. It will give him a chance to actually run his own program, not just baby-sit it. Also to lose the stigma of leading tOSU to its worst record in this century. Yeah, I know, it was his love of tOSU that had him try to hold the pieces together, and he did a creditable job, period. Now he's had a lot more experience, and seen how Urb runs the program, so he's got a chance to erase the past and build his own future. Also, pretty much certain that a job such as Ohio State head football coach wouldn't have gone to him, without sitting in the big chair a while first. It's not a learning position. UC could be a great fit for him, and I (we) wish him all the best. Taking Coombs with him is a smart idea, as he's entrenched in the Cincy area (still lives there, I recollect), and would be instant credibility. Yeah, would like to see him hire some of the tOSU grads that are currently in coaching. You gotta hire people loyal to you, else you're putting the slip-know around your own throat. Nevertheless, It's time, sounds like the right place, and with some success down there, might pave the way back to tOSU as the head dog, instead of one of the team. Or the Dantonio or Kelly path, leading a top university. Go Bucks, and Go Fickell
I think it's the first assumption everyone would make, plus some rumblings that he'd follow him.Is that the word though? Coombs that is?
Coombs is a recruiter, special teams coach and sort of a CB coach. He's at the bottom of the totem pole. That would be a great opportunity for him if he actually gets that role. He's really taking Coombs? Is there a link?
I would think the step to DC for UC would be a paycut. I might be wrong?
