All of the first 8 victims mentioned in the grand jury presentment were involved in Second Mile, it's where he found his victims, and it's an organization he created under the auspices of helping 'at risk' kids.

Well, they got that part right. The problem lies in the failure to disclose that the greatest risk presented to these children was from the founder of the organization himself.

Must be nice for a pedophile to have the resources to create, and obtain funding and celebrity support, for his own private hunting grounds of children. That is, by the way, one of the prime techniques known to be employed by pedophiles: identify children who are already disadvantaged, who frequently are fatherless, who have moms who are already overwhelmed by the responsibilities of caring for a child alone, and become their mentor. These are already damaged kids...so much easier to intimidate and manipulate. Plus, the children are so much less likely to have anyone else to go to for help once they've been victimized.

Isn't this the last year of his contract? It's not like it was going to be renewed or anything. So in essence, he was going to retire whether he wanted to or not. Which also raises the point that Paterno saying that he is going to retire at the end of the season translates to Paterno incurring no penalty whatsoever. What a man.
